They can upgrade from Battle in round 2 or 3 if they wish. Mafe will likely be a step back from Hendrickson and they could use another rusher to replace Ossai but they probably are looking at Murphy and Mafe as the starters with Stewart hopefully showing improvement and being the 3rd rusher. I'd still be happy with Bain if he's there but he doesn't fit their player model for the position. So I'd say CB or OT are very much in play and maybe LB or WR if Styles or Tate makes it to 10. But they've been talking Battle up all offseason. If they believe what they are saying, he'll get an extension. If not, then maybe we get Caleb. Or more likely, he's off the board. Saints and Chiefs signed RBs today so they're out of the Love stakes and might pivot to Downs. Report

Ideally they're not drafting to fill vacant starting positions. If Downs is better in camp than Battle, as a rookie, then start him. If not, he can earn the starting spot or he can remain a back-up. If he's gone or there's a better player available, take the top prospect & the same process can play out at his position vs whoever is penciled in as the starter right now. March 10Mar 10 comment_1822751 Hopefully they just take the best non-QB. Ideally, it wouldn’t be an offensive skill player, but Love or Tate wouldn’t be a bad thing. At WR, I’m not really a Tyson fan and Lemon, while talented, gives me diva vibes. If Downs is their highest rated player when they pick, I’d take him and as others have said, let him “duke” it out with Battle for playing time. Report
