Scratch 1 LB

Meh, good player but has a hard time staying on the field. Built like a big safety.

Gimme Lloyd or Chenal if they’re gonna shell out $ at LB.

Yet, the Bengals were able to reach a deal with his client Joseph Ossai last year. A team blaming an agent for not getting a deal done is ridiculous. Chase pulled a power move and that's what got the deal done, not who Tee's agent was.

Bad blood from the Bates situation. Tee always wanted to be here. He had to dump the turd to make it happen. Burrow and Chase also both pushed to make it happen.

Disagree.

I believe Mullghetto was the obstuction..

Tee fired him and he signed.

Yes Chase had some leverage in it as well.

Why not go to bat for his other half

I want Lloyd, more than likely get Chenal which I would be happy with as well.

Yes, the team caved on Tee because of the pressure from Joe and Ja'Marr.

Either would replace Carter and be a big upgrade. I was hoping to also add DeMario Davis but he signed with the Jets. Bobby Wagner is still available among the seniors contingent. Dre Greenlaw might be cheap and open to a prove-it deal.

Walker and Dean aren't resetting the market at LB. Lloyd will want more than either. Chenal will probably want at least the 12 that Dean got.

^ Bengals should be all in on Lloyd, even if they have to slightly overpay (like they did with Mafe).

What's "overpay" mean anyway? These dudes cost what they cost. Legit free agents are expensive, there's no store brand option.

Yeah, it's not an "overpay" if the player is getting other offers in the same ballpark.

Yeah, with the larger salary cap space most teams are flush with money to spend. The current market sets the prices. Pay the prices your competition is prepared to pay or expect to lose the targeted FA player.

... You tell the player, let us know your highest offer, and we will beat it by 10%.

The salary cap is mostly fugazi at this point anyway.

Get it done. Raise the standard at all 3 levels of the defense. I didn't think they had it in them but if they can land him I would call that an excellent start to FA.

Knight should have a solid year 2 if they can pair him with someone like this. Dude can play, they just threw him into the fire with next to zero help around him. He looked capable to me, just overwhelmed. Let him worry about his own game instead of trying to QB a bad defense and he'll shine.

Really need a DT better than Slaton to keep the LB's clean, whoever they end up playing.

It is also the fact that teams know the cap is going up in future years as well. So this years overpay is underpay in 2 years

Go is probably right: money may not be everything. A young man’s choice between New Orleans, Charlotte, and Cincinnati. 🤔
