Would the top 2 OTs if drafted help more than him this year or does experience override that?

His immense dead cap would override even that

JFM by a furlong.

I agree. The Bengals are desperate for any kind of pass rush, but their IDL options provide almost no pressure. In the last 2 drats they barely missed out on 2 DTs they were prepared to select Byron Murphy/Walter Nolen) in the 1st rounds. Both players were taken one or two slots ahead of the Bengals.

So mammoth..so soft..

Media loves this guy.

So will the AFCN pass rushers .

..

IDK about starting them this year but an OT pick early would be fine by me. I'm seeing 3 OT's mocked in the top 10-15 range so yeah.. Maybe Downs is gone, maybe they trade down a few spots and grab Mauigoa from Georgia & an extra 3rd.. for example. Wouldn't be mad.

That would be too forward thinking. If Downs/Bain are gone…panic will set in and Kendrick Stewart-Faulk will be hurriedly chosen

Just saw a mock with Bain at #2. That seems crazy but I think we'll need a lot of the earlier teams to go offense for either one to fall to 9.

OBj is going into the final year of his contract so there's no more bonus to accelerate into 2026 if released. It would be a pure savings of his 14 mil salary and roster bonuses.

Before free agency most mocks had the Jets taking a pass rusher at 2. Today they agreed to terms with Ossai and Enagbare and they still have McDonald around. They could easily wait until pick 16 or one of their 2nd rounders to take another rusher.

the legend.

some brit who covered NYC teams.

Yeah Imma definitely take his word..

Boye Mafa ..

6'4 265 lbs

Bengals liked his size

Playing under the new guru of defenses, Mike McDaniels, his game was regulated to a 5 man rush.

Times he would just clear a path for a backer on stunts.

It impeded his sack totals

The need at edge protector and some pressures iwas a concern

May he solve it

Very good signing

Hopefully he can show SHEmar Stewart 'the light'.....

or at least point out which guy is the QB

very happy with this dude & Cook but I expected them to keep going

Best season was '23. Was so-so last year overall. Not a sack machine (other than '23), and as Jamie pointed out, more of a 3-4 LB than a true Edge.

Nice signing. They still need a LOT more pass rushers and interior DL.

yeah i think with the scheme and sort of positional change he is used on pass rush downs only or mostly, Stwert and murphy are solid vs the run, and both can be moved inside in mixing things up on pass rush downs, without needing to be a everydown guy potentially, you could seea better energy use in going after the QB..

im just basing thisoff the rotations we see at DT around the league and on the bengals each game, sharing snaps and being fresh is as vital as anything else you do these days.

a fun addition, im not expecting somethin groundbreaking. and seems to fit Goldens ideal "flexability" requirement for his guys being sort of that twween LB/EDGE role guy.

be fun to see how he is used.
