I have no problem with his faith, my literal name on here is BlackJesus.

My problem is with him believing that "his savior" is concerned with how many millions of dollars are in his signing bonus. To me that's the opposite of what the faith he claims to believe in says (hence the hypocrisy / shamelessness).

But I realize this is the football forum so I will leave it there.

I appreciate the explanation.

Dang I didn't know that he took less money too. What a D bag. After all that.

If I'm managing this team we're bringing in a 275lb bruiser back just for when we play Baltimore and running at him every play. I don't even care if win or not as long as he is eating dirt every other play.

He got less money than Phillips did from the Panthers or Hunter got on his extension. He took a similar amount to what Crosby would have been paid by the Ravens with more of it guaranteed.

Are you complaining that he didn't re-sign with the Bengals?

No not complaining at all just pointing out the hypocrisy.

What's the hypocrisy?

OBJ is adequate at LT. He's not a top guy for sure, and he jumps the snap WAY too much for my liking, but he's better than what is in the draft and what we might find in FA.

i think it would help him if they got out of the shotgun and under center, , when they in shotgun the DE is lines way out and he needs to pretty much be running backwards to meet him ,

Ive been saying this for years, it would help the line and Joe not get hurt, but the issue is Joe is able to see the whole field and what the D is doing in shotgun, Joe needs to work on seeing it from under center more

Wasn't there an article in on eof the Bengal fan websites quoting Pritcher saying they were going to move to more plays under center? Doesn't mean they will but the initial intention is there

I thought I read something about that, they have been saying that for a while though so well see I guess

He didn’t “take” less money. Nobody offered him anything close to the top of the DE market. He misjudged his value and the only thing he got was guaranteed money in the second year.

Right up there with recommitting to running the ball, improving the pass rush, and attacking free agency. The litany of the offseason.

Sure they are.

I think he meant less money than what the Bengals offered him in the contract that he turned down. It was reported to be 3 years at $95M total without guarantees in years 2 & 3.

The 1st 2 years of the Bengals contract that he didn't sign, would have been more money than the 1st 2 years of the Ravens in total. The difference was that the Ravens, although lower was guaranteed in the 2nd year. The Bengals would have probably paid him the year 2 money - it's the year 3 money that would have been questionable on that deal. The Ravens might cut / trade him after year 2 anyways though, so him and his agent probably cost him money overall arguing over the year 2 guarantee. If he's there for year 3 of his Ravens deal then he probably made the correct decision - I think the Bengals would have cut him or pushed him to lower the last year of the contract if he had taken their offer. That's the point where I see him coming out ahead on the two contracts - just my opinion though.

That's why I think he's destined to be a post-June 1st cut before the 2028 season. Maybe he makes it to the 28 season if he plays well in both 26 & 27 but the only way they keep that $35M cap charge is if Lamarr's contract is off the books or reworked by then.
