I don't remember who it was though.Murphy maybe? Report

April 18Apr 18 comment_1825168 Here’s a sure-fire winning bet. The Bengals were “in on” Dexter Lawrence. Of course, he ended up elsewhere, but hey, we “coulda been a contender” (instead of a bum, which is what we are)… Report

Minimal risk & maximum cash value towards future savings. Don't let anyone tell you they can't afford him.I think we're in for more Skatin' Slaton. Probably some noise about what a great camp Jenkins and/or Jackson are having before belt meets ass come kickoff time. Fear is they fucked those 2 up like they're fucking up Knight. Too much, too soon. May draft another 0-1 tech/NT but the chances of finding an immediate starter after the 2nd round are about zero.I'd settle for Reader coming back. Kinda sucks they'd need to do that but it's not like they're going to hold themselves accountable for failing to replace him & he's still better than what they've got now. One of the worst pass rushes and 2nd worst in YPC against the run. I don't think Mafe & Allen are going to turn that around. Report

Well, Jeffery Simmons would be close. So yeah, I’d be ok with the investment. Even if they gave up a #1 and maybe more, he makes major coin and they’d likely stay away. Same for Simmons. But both are tremendous players and could make a huge difference for this D.But hey, we have some young guys like Jenkins and Jackson that we are “all in” on, plus there’s some guys on the PS that we feel really good about! (Bengals FO speaking). Report

I don't see anyone like that on defense, at least not yet.Letting people like Murphy loaf along until it suits him to play ball heading into a contract year & then rewarding him for it sends the opposite message - effort is optional. Keep smiling & never call anyone out directly. Everyone's just happy to be here under the NFL's money tree. Report
