I like Duggar - and I feel like he can be a bit of a Swiss Army knife at S and even outside LB. He’s better defending closer to the LOS.

I don’t see him as a nickel. I’m hopeful that Ja’Sir Taylor can provide some depth there, but as of now, seems like Davis is the leader in the clubhouse to start.

I really thought that Josh Newton might show something as a slot guy, but it seemed last year was a washout for him and this is likely his last chance.

Dark horse is Bralyn Lux. He’s quick and he’s got ball skills. The team elevated him from the PS several times late last year.

Yes - although I like his chances more than Newton’s. He showed he can be effective covering TEs and he played well on STs last year.

they need to not put too much on this guy's plate right away or he's going to struggle just like Knight has so far.

Howell does not figure to be a starter as a rookie though. The plan is for him to be a big rotational piece on the defensive line behind Mafe. Part of the new coming-in-waves that Golden wants to implement with the d-line. Howell’s snap count will be determined by his game-to-game performance, unless DE injuries become a major factor.

I don’t know if this will be Cincinnati’s best defensive line, but it should definitely be the deepest. I don’t think they have ever had this much experience, youth, and athleticism across the defensive front before. With the amount of draft capital and cap spending that they have invested in the d-line, it had better be among the strongest rooms on the roster.

i was more referring to him playing in space as a LB, which i think they've been talking about... still hoping for a late vet signing there, though. needs to happen.

Why would they insert Howell asa RDE?

I'm presuming his forte is Pass Rush from the blindsidealong with Murphy.

They signed Mafe along with Shemar Stewart as edge protectors like Hubbard was once upon a time
