April 25Apr 25 comment_1826530 This dude is here to cover big TE's. Beginning of story. End of story. If he plays here for 4 years, cures cancer, solves the whole Israel Palestine thing - but allows Andrews, Friermuth, Fannin, and Likely to keep converting 3rd and 6, he will be a lousy draft pick.He doesn't have to stop the run. He doesn't have to be versatile enough to play nickel. If that fat guy from Pittsburgh goes for 100 yards against us again this year...He's here to cover TE's. Report

With his length and speed he's going to be hard to throw over. He might play TE a lot early, but don't be surprised if he does wind up an outside CB eventually. Report

He might play TE a lot early, but don't be surprised if he does wind up an outside CB eventually. The move to outside is more about fluidity and change of direction than speed. Longer striders are at a natural disadvantage. He's well suited to being a Zone CB on the boundary, but that's like being a really good blocking TE. It's not a nothing skill, but it's also not high on the value list. So, as a man CB, he has to be able to flip his hips, follow guys on run offs, and react to fast cuts. Because he is nearly 6'4", he has a higher center of gravity. His short shuttle (4.31 seconds) and three-cone (7.15 seconds) times are average to below-average for a cornerback. He doesn't have the "stop-and-start" twitch of a smaller nickel corner. If he proves he can play in the box AND cover a Mark Andrews man to man? Way more valuable than being an average boundary corner. If he can use that 6'4" frame and 80" wingspan to shut down the 6'5" - 6'7" TE's littering the NFL right now... If he can come in across from Darnell Washington and not be a liability in either the run game or pass game?? That makes him a tactical eraser. He negates the offensive tactical value of Darnell Washington.SS if he can play in the box and cover TE's. FS if he's rangy and tall.I could be wrong - I don't think he has the potential to be elite on the outside. Instead, I see him being able to be elite as a tactical weapon. Report

Since it isn't a widely documented biological animal, its appearance can vary slightly depending on the artist's interpretation, though it generally maintains a lithe, predatory silhouette. He washed out in Dallas pretty early and ended up in Minny and then Chicago, and had a really nice year last year. For whatever reason, he left in FA and is on the Jets now. Report
April 25Apr 25 comment_1826575 I actually thought DJ Ivey did a pretty solid job against TEs, when called upon. Issue is, he is not a guy that you want playing a lot of snaps outside.I’m sure the hope/expectation for “BoBo” goes well beyond that, as it should. Report
