But...but...but...this feels significantly different this year especially with the emphasis on much needed defensive improvement and specifically with the addition of Sexy Dexy. Not only was he a key position of need, but the comments being made about his leadership and mentorship all seem genuine, heartfelt, and impactful. p sure they gave Knight the headset when they ran Wilson out of town? This came up in the other thread & I'm not some die-hard Logan fan. He was pretty good, most of the time. Didn't shrink under pressure. He was clearly wearing down. Dumping him for a 7th rd pick midseason seems petty and sure didn't help them win any more games, but what's done is done.

Sounds like Cook should be taking over that role in a way neither LB could, both on & off the field. That's a big help so long as Golden isn't trying to reinvent the wheel out there. This team has an odd tendency to outsmart themselves.

Ultimately the play of the LBs is their own responsibility. Everyone has to play their own position at a decent level to have a championship team. They're not all going to be Pro Bowlers, granted, but there's also not much room for bums. They can still win games with bad LBs it's just that they'll cost them a few when it really counts.

One of them has to step up, even if they do bring in that mythical free agent

Many elite skilled players skip involuntaries.

Prefer specialized training, diet and no risk of freak injuries.

Once voluntary starts they show.
