1. WOOT! We took it to SC last night, babeeee! We HAVE to beat Florida (that is our next and final game, right?) and make a good showing in the SEC tourney (like losing in the champ game or winning it all) and we should get into the dance as about an 11-12 seed. Man, if we pull this off and get into the tourney, that would be something! And you know what? I bet we could get into the Sweet 16 if we do get in...this team is starting to play like a TEAM!
 2. Patrick Patterson out for the year with a broken ankle....FUCK FUCKITY FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!!!!!! After we've clawed our way back into this shit, won 9 out of 10, we're 10-3 in the SEC and we play the NUMBER ONE team in the country tomorrow and now THIS!!!! GODDAMMITTT! If the Bengals hadn't signed Rogers today, I might have just slit my wrists.... FUCK!!!!!!
 3. Well, aside from the Vandy game, we seem to be getting a team together. What have we won now, seven of eight? I tell you what, if we run the table and show up in the SEC tournament, by God, we'll get into the NCAA tourney, where I believe we can be dangerous.
 4.
Vandy's court has been like that for a lot years... for whatever reason it seems to give teams problems because for at least 1 half your coach is like 94 feet away and not able to scream at you... it gives a lot of teams trouble every year. I don't know about 41 points worth of trouble but trouble none the less Another issue that Kentucky is going to have to realize now is that Vandy has written the book on how to effectively beat them. Always have a man on Patterson and shading him with at least one other guy so he can't even get the ball. Made Crawford / Bradley / Jasper, et al beat you. Just force Kentucky to play on the offensive end without Patterson.
I don't see that as being an issue at all, really. UK was terrible for a game and failed to adjust their offense. We beat Vandy earlier in the year with the same players...Patterson is a stud and had a bad game and we kept trying to force him the ball. I think this was a case of Billy G learning a lesson in not being obstinate about his gameplan and needing to be more flexible when things go against you. Like Steggy said, throw away the tape, admonish the players and use the humiliation of the worst loss EVER to an SEC opponent to motivate. UK is far from out of it. Despite their bad overall record, they are still 6-3 in the SEC, and can do themselves a service in the eyes of the selection committe if they finish strong in reg season play and make some kind of a run in the SEC Tournament. At least, that's what I'm hoping for. UK's biggest issue in my mind is if the outside shooting is off, we're toast, especially if Patterson is taken away or gets into foul trouble. We lack depth and have been marred by injuries all year. I thought this was turning around with the 5 game win streak before Vandy, but maybe a humiliating loss is just what this group (and new coach) needs. We'll see. If not, NIT, here we come, and maybe we can face and beat UC in the Final!
 5.
Bung, I apologize in advance. This is not directed at you. This is for all the arrogant UK fans I had to deal with over the years when they gave me crap about UC. 11 points in the first half?!?!?!?!:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
hey, it's deserved criticism, I'll eat the crow when it's my turn. Thank Tubby for leaving the program in the state it was in, with little talent and no big men of note. Billy G is having to recruit his ass off to get us back to where we are *supposed* to be. Good thing is, Billy G is a hell of a recruiter. We have locked up some serious talent for next year. Undoing Tubby's damage is going to take a year or two.
 6.
Historically, this really sucks, but I don't think we drop out of the top 100 in the RPI, and who would have thought we'd be 6-3 in conference play after our OoC Losses to UAB, Gardner-Webb, and San Diego? http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_357_Men.html fuck it, bring on LSU. Hopefully we get to play UC in the NIT
It's hard to say: "UK isn't very good at basketball right now".
 7. Vandy is a weird place to play and has sometimes given UK problems when we actually had a good team. I don't know what to make of this showing tonight in light of the fact that UK has been playing well recently. I want to call it an anomoly, but I just can't. We are rebuilding under our new coach, which in my mind with UK, isn't supposed to happen....dammit.....
 8. If you look at the 4 game stretch we're on, 2-2 is pretty good. Beating Vandy, a ranked opponent, at home. Barely losing to MISS State, a STRONG ranked opponent away. Barelylosing to FL, a ranked opponent in overtime away. BEATING Tennessee at home, a ranked opponent. UK is playing better....it's coming.....
 9.
There's our "signature win". Anyways, great game today. I had fun and got a bit drunk off of it! Let's beat this SEC down!!!
If we play like we did yesterday, there's no reason that we couldn't be say, 25-10 by the end of conference play. That would be a dramatic turnaround, though.
 10.
Wow, even UC beat Louisville.
Louisville has a TON of talent this year...UC got lucky that UL played so poorly in that game (9% from 3-pt range). And UK is just bad this year, for a variety of reasons. Gillespie has to take some of the blame, but I think that once BG gets his kind of recruits, and once BG's system is fully in place that UK can go far. As of now, we're looking at missing the NIT the way we're going. Somehow I'm just not that beat up about it. I didn't expect a miraculous transformation this season with a new coach and a roster full of guards with no talent in the frontcourt (and that IS Tubby's doing), but I didn't expect it to be this bad, either.
 11.
Hows the post Bloomington hangover????? i just had to!
You were due. It's been awhile for your squad against UK, and you're loaded this year and we are weak in the frontcourt. Good job. IU looks to do well this year.
 12.
Just want to say to the KY fans, Vlad Moldoveanu chose George Mason over KY. http://gomason.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/mt...anu_vlad00.html
We don't like European players at UK. Hell, we're just getting used to black ones....
 13. Our non-conference schedule looks pretty weak this year, outside of whomever is playing in that 2k tourney....the Tarheels and....that's about it. How we looking guys? I can't watch the games on my "new and improved" cable, Comcast. Don't get FSN South or "BigBlue Network", which is funny, because when I lived in Sunman I used to get all the games, and now that I live right across the river from NKY (ie, much closer), I don't get the games! Fuck!
 14.
I think the fact that they were the last chosen number was due to some of the losses to the shitty teams. Oral Roberts and Depaul.
That's exactly why, but in the end, it didn't really hurt them at all. KU has a very winnable bracket right now, especially given how good they are.
 15.
Good game UK...I think next year UK will be better. I also think Tubby is still your guy for now. But he better do something and go deep next year or he may be gone.
We don't lose anyone of note due to graduation, and if Morris comes back and our recruiting class proves to be as good as it's supposed to be....we'll be dancing again next year easy. And as for Kansas, I am now rooting for them to win it all, logic being: "Hey, that's the best team in the country my team lost to!" Plus, this is the best-looking KU team I've seen in a long time. They are long, lean, three-shooting, fast motherfuckers with a great coach and a deep bench. They very well could take it all.
 16. The game isn't over, but it really is. 5 minutes to go and UK down by 15... Good game Kansas. We just don't have the horses, experience nor the outside shooters to beat a team llike Kansas when they are on, and they were ON. That Rush motherfucker, could he miss a three now and again, please? UK's spirit is broken now, it's over.
 17.
36-30 at the half The difference in the game is Joe Crawford who hijacked the last 6 minutes of the game, he needs to realize is is a role player and not a superstar
That and Jasper is in over his head. He's too tall to guard the quick KU guards and too inexperienced to be relied upon to handle the ball much. Plus he has almost zero offensive game. I'd ride Morris and Meeks all the way to glory. Bobby Perry is going to have to continue to have a good contributing role as well. Crawford is one of if not our leading scorer, he's just one of those guys that doesn't have enough explosiveness to take matters into his own hands, he needs to keep his head in the team effort and let the game come to him. We do all that, we win.
 18. MOMENT OF TRUTH LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO BLUE!!!!!!!
 19.
Good thing computer simulations don't play basketball, huh? Otherwise Kentucky might as well not even show up.
No shit. Just ask Duke. Or Louisville, although they played a higher seed, I thought for sure they would win that one. It's the fucking tournament. The only safe bets are that a 16 won't beat a 1 in the first round, and that's about it (OK, 15's usually don't beat 2's, either.) OSU versus Xavier is a prime example even though X lost. If you asked the average OSU fan on here prior to the game, do you think that they would have thought that the game would have been forced into overtime by OSU whom trailed by 9 points in the waning moments? UK can assuredly win this game against Kansas if they play to their potential. Problem is, they haven't done so most of this season so nobody is giving them a shot now. We'll see. GO UK BEAT KU!!!!!
Homer.
They won, didn't they?
 20. Almost time, kids. Strap on your tinfoil hats, your favorite old and faded UK article and hope for the best. Kansas awaits. GO BIG BLUE, LET THE MADNESS CONSUME YOUR SOULS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 21.
Ummm. we got blasted by Kansas last year, 73-46, and we were a more talented team last year. Kansas got better and we got worse. What makes you think Kansas, if we get there, is going to be beat by UK.
Because it's the tournament and anything can happen. Because UK has a talented squad and can hang with anyone. Because Kansas lost to Bucknell. I certainly have my doubts as we finished 4-6 in our last ten games and got bounced in the second round of the SEC tourney on a stupid fluke, but again....anything can happen.
 22.
Yeah sure, blame the coach's son, who wore a taupe. (toupee) Mean bastard.
It was a joke. I don't want Saul Smith anywhere near my team again. I never liked him as a player but I realized at the time due to graduations, suspensions, transfers and a player death that we needed a scholarship player on the roster. I thought he tried hard but he just wasn't very good. You made some good points, but delusions of grandeur? Please. I watch a LOT of college basketball and I completely realize the parity that exists in college basketball and the very small windows of opportunities that exist for teams to put together enough talent to win a lot of games both during the season and after. In my mind, the likes of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, etc have kind of ruined college hoops for me to a degree, not that it's their fault they are so good, but look at the NFL...and Maurice Clarett. There's an age minimum, and I wish there was one in the NBA, but I digress. It isn't that I think Tubby's done a bad job, in fact, I really like him, I think he is as classy as they come, and you're right, he doesn't seem to be able to recruit as well as Pitino (who has a Final Four apperance with Louisville already, with a program that was in total rebuilding mode when he took over, just like UK was when he took over there...it seems to be his speciality), but he is a good coach. I was just wondering why it is that he always stresses defense, defense, defense, which, while important, is only one half of the game of basketball. Tubby's offensive scheme to me leaves something to be desired, and is the single most glaring limiting factor that holds UK back from being better than they have been (which is pretty good, NCAA tourney every year, etc). On a side note, what do you UK fans predict for our team? We've lost 6 of 10 games heading into this, with grumblings amongst the fanbase about Tubby's job, etc... One and done? Second round loss to Kansas? I think we're certainly capable of winning both those games in terms of talent, but the question is....can we put it together? Oddly enough, somehow I wouldn't be surprised looking at our bracket if we find ourselves in the Elite Eight this year. We have the talent to play with anyone, we just have to do it.
 23.
Yes I do get it. Kentucky fans have incredible delusions of grandeur. You guys are a lot like Notre Dame football fans because of your arrogance and unrealistic yearly expectations. Kentucky is not the power, you think it is. Kentucky is not the hot spot that all recruits want to play at. Pitino had lightning in a bottle in the 90's, those players came because of HIM, not because they thought Kentucky was the shiznit. That was the anomaly, Kentucky winning championships year after year isn't. Also another thing Kentucky fans fail to realize is the parity among division I basketball. Because of the temptation of going to the NBA, all college teams including Kentucky are lucky to assemble national championship caliber teams for a year or two. The era of the college dynasties are over. If Smith is underachieving, name one coach Kentucky could realistically pull that could do a better job?
Two words: Saul Smith
 24.
Watch Tubby get this team on a roll. I will not be suprised with a sweet 16 appearence for Kentucky. You UK fans don't deserve Tubby, just like to hate him.
You have no idea what you're talking about. I like Tubs, but in the ten years he's been here, the best he's done with his own recruits is 2 Elite Eight appearances. That doesn't cut it here, regardless of the color of his skin or whatever. I want Final Four basketball at least once every five years or so. Tubs hasn't delivered. And I'm not saying that I want him fired, but the microscope is on him now. This season, given our talent level, is disappointing to the fans like me that expect better. If he can turn it around in the next two years, great. I hope he can. But I certainly won't cry either if he gets canned. I understand both points of view. I think he is a great coach but something just isn't clicking with his system here (as in, we can't SCORE!), despite tenacious defense, so...meh.... Either way, I wouldn't be surprised nor upset. I just want wins.
 25.
Kansas fans have to be pissed at looking at a 2nd round matchup against UK If we get past Villanova we are beating Kansas and going deep into the tourney. Thats the feeling I have
Ah well, there's always hope. It isn't as if we don't have talented players or a tournament-ready coach. We just need to play two complete halves of basketball instead of this constant come-from-behind bullshit that we've been caught up in. That sound you are hearing is Tubby's ass sizzling in the Kentucky Hot Seat right now....
