The typical answers came up: Doctor, Fireman, Salesman, etc. Timmy was uncharacteristically quiet, so the teacher asked him about his father. “My dad is an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off all his clothes in front of other men. Sometimes, if the offer is good enough, he’ll go out into the alley with a man and make love with him for money.†The teacher, obviously shaken by this reply, hurriedly set the other children to work on some small tasks, coloring and reading, then took little Timmy aside. “Is that true about your father, Timmy?†“Noâ€Â, replied Timmy, “he plays for the Green Bay Packers, but I was too embarrassed to say so.
