PHOENIX -- Diamondbacks fans will have a unique opportunity Saturday night to watch their favorite team online for free on diamondbacks.com.
Originally, FSN Arizona was going to broadcast the Diamondbacks-Reds game on its cable station, but the Phoenix Suns' dramatic overtime win in Los Angeles on Thursday night forced a Game 7 of their NBA playoff matchup with the Lakers, and that game will be shown on FSN Arizona on Saturday night.

Thanks to the Diamondbacks and FSN Arizona, Diamondbacks fans unable to attend the game at Chase Field will not have to miss a single pitch of Saturday night's game between the D-Backs and Reds.

The D-Backs and FSN Arizona have teamed up to provide fans a free webcast of the game between the two first-place clubs on diamondbacks.com.

"We want to thank the Arizona Diamondbacks for their tremendous cooperation on this endeavor and appreciate their willingness to let us make the change," said FSN Arizona vice president and general manager Mike Connelly. "The D-Backs' strong fan base wants to see as many games as possible and this is one way to properly ensure they won't miss out on a game that features two of the National League's top teams."

With the game not on television in the greater Phoenix area, the webcast will be an exclusive way for fans to enjoy the game. All that's needed is a broadband connection. There is no charge to watch the game, and there are no blackout restrictions.

"We want to give our fans the opportunity to still view the game if they are unable to attend at Chase Field," said Diamondbacks general partner Jeff Moorad. "We are extremely proud to be one of the first teams to offer our fans a free webcast."

It's a good thing, too, because this is a series fans won't want to miss.

The Diamondbacks have been red hot of late. The club had won five straight games heading into Friday's opening game of the series and the D-Backs were tied with Rockies for first place in the National League West.

Meanwhile, the Reds came into the series with the best record in the National League and in first place in the NL Central.

"It should be fun," veteran left fielder Luis Gonzalez said of the matchup with the Reds. "Obviously, it's early, so I'm not going to say it's a big test for us or anything. But definitely they're playing well right now and we are, too, so it should be a good series. It'll be a good challenge for us."

The game, which begins at 6:40 p.m. MST, will be simulcast with the Diamondbacks radio broadcast. Greg Schulte, the radio voice of the D-Backs, will call the action along with analyst Tom Candiotti.

To make up for the lost TV game, FSN Arizona will now telecast the Diamondbacks home game with Pittsburgh on Wednesday, May 24, at 3:30 p.m. MST. Previously, this game was not scheduled for television.[/quote]
