Bring a dollar to the Bengals/Falcons game

Recommended Posts

i was listening to 700 wlw streaming and heard seg mention that the bengals are looking for fans attending the bengals/falcons matchup to donate $1 a piece in hopes of raising approx 65k for the national breast cancer foundation. i suppose there will be people collecting donations around the outside of the stadium so if you are planning on attending the game be prepared to get your dollar ready upon entry. its only a buck, and its for a good cause so lets represent ourselves well.

(didnt hear it, but i am hoping that the bengals would match the donation made by the fans)

Donations for National Breast Cancer Foundation Accepted at All Gates

The Bengals and National City are teaming up to ask fans to bring a $1 donation to the October 29 game vs. the Atlanta Falcons. All money collected will be given to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Donation buckets and volunteers in pink hats will be stationed at each gate at Paul Brown Stadium. If every fan can “Bring a Buck” to help fight breast cancer, Bengals fans will make a donation of more than $65,000 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

In addition to the fundraising drive, a special ceremony will take place before the game during which 30 breast-cancer survivors will take the field to create a human pink ribbon. The survivors, chosen from more than 200 applicants, represent the strength and courage of all breast cancer survivors. Each participant will receive two free tickets, a pink jacket to wear to the game and a special gift of jewelry to commemorate the occasion.

For those Bengals fans not able to attend the game, National City volunteers will have collection buckets at the Bengals Bash on October 20 and 27. Bengals Bash rallies, starting at 5 p.m. and located in the Backstage Entertainment District, include appearances by Bengals players, Ben-Gal cheerleaders and media personalities.

The events are part of National City’s ongoing “Real Men Wear Pink” campaign, promoting breast cancer awareness and featuring Bengals safety Kevin Kaesviharn as spokesperson.

“Given that one in every eight women is diagnosed with breast cancer, this disease has a profound affect on our communities,” said Kaesviharn. “The survivors we’re honoring are a small handful of those who command our respect and admiration.”

National City held a series of events throughout the month to help shed light on the fight against breast cancer. Other local activities to support breast cancer awareness and research include:

Changing the face of Downtown Cincinnati by shining more than 170,000 watts of pink light on the National City Center downtown. A lighting ceremony was held as community partners, employees and survivors watched the lighting from a special riverboat cruise anchored near the building.

Partnering with the Marvin Lewis Community Fund to award the second annual Pink Football Award to an outstanding woman for her strength, courage and perseverance to overcome breast cancer.

A breast cancer survivor reception on October 24 at Paul Brown Stadium. The reception will include a $50,000 donation from National City to the Bethesda Foundation to support the fight against breast cancer.

National City also supports prevention and research initiatives through the sale of its special Diamond Edition debit and credit card products. Through these products and services, a portion of each transaction goes to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, with special incentive contributions during the month of October. Since the beginning of the Diamond Edition program, National City and its customers have raised $1.7 million toward breast cancer prevention and education. In addition, through the points from National City program, throughout the month of October, customers will be able to redeem points to make a donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation to provide free mammograms, screenings and education.
