Guest mongoloido
CompUSAAuctions Don't know how interested anybody is, but this is a decent way to get the electronics you want cheap. CompUSA has a thing where they don't resell returned or opened merchandise. What they do is accept returns, get money back from the manufacturers, then auction the items off here. Proceeds wind up going to charities, so I'm guessing CompUSA and the manufacturers get a tax break from all of this. Anyway, it's a good place to shop for the stuff you would shop for at the local electronics stores. Disclaimer: I only learned of them last night. The synopsis above is second hand from the guy who gave me the link. A couple details may be off, but the meat of the deal is pretty accurate. Have a look around the site. I think you set up an account and can set up parameters to outbid the highest bid by a dollar until it hits your max or some such thing. Dunno really. I've never ebay'd or anything. Hope this is helpfull for some of you. I may start hunting for a new digital camera .
Guest steggyD
Who was looking for a laptop? That Toshiba 3.4 on that site is not looking too shabby. I don't know how their products are, but I wouldn't mind having it.
Guest mongoloido
Just got back from the actual compusa store. Frickin' paydirt today! I've been hunting down the right video card for the new comp and was settling in on the X800 xl. It performs even with the 6800gts and newegg had the Sapphire x800xt for $349 (Sapphire is Ati's mass producer of cards. They perform really well, but aren't quite as topnotch quality construction and they tend to have a lesser warrenty). That's a heck of a deal in my book. So anyway, a friend of mine was on CompUSAs website and came across an actual ATI manufactured x800 xl for $299. BINGO! Went out today and picked up. CompUSA doesn't realized that all the reviews have been so good for this card that the rest of the world is charging a lot more for them. I bet the price jumps next week, but who cares. I got mine .
