I’d consider it, although as others have stated, Gesicki can/has played a lot of slot and they still don’t know what they have in Charlie Jones (I think he’ll be a weapon but because he has position flex, not sure he’s a FT slot guy).

I have always liked TB and he’s obviously been a fixture there. He knows the offense cold and has rapport with JB. But you’ve got Chase, Tee, Andre, Irwin, Charlie Jones… and potentially a draftee. That’s already crowded.

You have a bit more positivity with Chuck Fizzle than I have. Get the first year thing, but—even when not injured—he was a mystery of where his route was, and dropped more than a couple when the ball was in his breadbasket or catchable. Not really seeing more than a kick returner tbh.

Iosivas is sort of a Kelly Washington from my eyesight: maybe making rather great grab sometimes, maybe disappearing more.

Teams can always have more than one slot guy. TB is aces here. Still wish they could get him back

What I would do for one of those...I have a Reebok one and love the material and fit but it's the one with the white side panel.

Can you get leaping tiger ones through Koch's? I check ebay every once in a while but it is very rare someone is getting rid of one of those beauties

Koch’s was where I got mine back in the day. I would imagine they could make any style you would want—for a price.

My ‘69-era Bergey jersey was made at Koch’s—to the original material and specs as the originals. Cost quite a bit though—just be warned.

I dunno.  The newer/safer onside kickoff rules have basically made the thing impossible.  It works 3.2% of the time.   That said, what was proposed looks like something only Harvard and Yale could figure out.

The kickoff itself has become more ceremonial than anything.   I know it has reduced injuries but has also taken out an exciting part of the game. 78% of kickoffs are touchbacks now.

At least the NFL is thinking about ways to keep the game exciting.  Baseball sat on its hands for 40 years as “purists” refused to make any changes. This allowed the analytics types to basically turn “America’s Pastime” into a boring, drawn out,  long affair that has cratered in US popularity.   They finally made changes to speed up the game but they lost a lot of ground.

Better yet, the guy they have pinned their hopes to for more revenue (Ohtani) is about to get suspended for wiring millions of dollars to an illegal bookie in Cali.  Sportsbook and Casino style gambling is still illegal in Cali.

Baseball will always have to be baseball: they still have to pitch/hit/field. They can add all of the DH’s…pitch clocks…ghost runners they want, won’t change a thing about the game. If bored modern-era “fans” expect much more, then the sport was going to die here anyway. It will always live in Latin America and Japan.

Tweak too much more in the NFL/college, and the sport will (if it hasn’t become already) become the outdoor version of the Arena League. That also becomes boring after a while.

  4. What’s the old adage: “Give the home team X points against opponent”?

The Stealers will have trouble scoring points. A split.

The CFT will score points, defend well, but always prone to critical give-aways. Maybe a split.

The Rats have their number (except in the playoffs) regardless of where they play. Rat sweep.

2-4 against the division. Just have to win better against common opponents and limit the AFC losses to an absolute minimum

Any thoughts on the kid from BYU that is related to Penei Sewell...Kingsley Abunchofvowels...or something like that.

These Nigerian and  Polynesian players' last names have got me like...

Kingsley Suamataia. Ok say that three times.

A good friend of mine is a BYU grad, so he and I go back and forth on the qualities of the Y players versus others. He can’t pronounce his name, but assures me Kingsley is the real deal. Myself? Can’t comment.

I've heard Latham, Fuaga, and Fautanu all described as having pro bowl guard potential.

I have probably mentioned this before; I watch mostly west coast college football--and Oregon State in particular. Don't be fooled: Fuaga is as natural a RT as you will find anywhere. He gets higher "grades" for run blocking, but my eyes didn't deceive me watching him pass block. Big man...anchors superbly...deft enough to stay with edge rushers, and rarely gets swim moved inside. Long time starter also. No "breaking in" like Mims.

Forget the guard stuff--this is a tackle.

Finally have a RT that can pass block efficiently to give JB that extra time to do his magic

To be honest, most of his pressure problems come from the interior rush--and less so from the RT spot. Where he gets knocked down all the time is a combo of having no sliding to one side avenues--which the tackle spots can seal--and no step-up space.

The undisputed master of escape--Kermit. Watch his right tackle when he starts to slide to his right...moves out almost immediately sealed by him. Jonah could never get this down pat. Maybe Brown will, but it does require some agility.
