is Columbus standing in for national? Because...lol to that data point.
101 locations other than Columbus in OH. 200 nationwide.
Internationally: 5 locations in Canada. Also one in New Zealand. 7 in Europe. One in Israel.
Sorry, it's actually 15 Central OH locations--including the North Fork Browns Backers of St. Louisville OH (pop 362)
Bengal locations in Central OH: Columbus Bengal Nation at The Pub in Gahanna (of which I am a member).
Not that I really give a Tinker's Damn, but it was an illustration of the extent of that organization's deep fan base. Perhaps your assumption of how deep the present popularity of the Bengals may be--let's just say--way overestimated.

It was an excellent read, but I would be interested to see the "internal survey data" that says the Bengals have the largest national fan base among all Ohio pro sports teams. I think the Browns would beg to differ.
There are 7 Backer Clubs in Columbus alone.

Whatever the hell that is
“Grow fan bases world wide”.
International football (soccer) has done this for years. The English Premier League has been highly aggressive in this endeavor—particularly in the US and Asia.
For example, my PL allegiance—Liverpool—has “Official Club Locations” in most major U.S. markets. These are primarily pubs, but also at the supporter organizational levels. Having an “official location” designation, allows a two-way stream of exposure for both fans and club. Fans get deals like ticket options for matches in the UK (and some special VIP throw-ins). The club gets basically free marketing in the locations.
Another aspect of “growing fan bases” is the connection to US television rights. NBC, Peacock, and USA Network all televise PL matches every week.
That the NFL is looking into doing what the PL has been doing for a long time, will present them with more revenue growth than simply playing some games in international cities every so often. The grass roots approach will definitely garner more responses.

Was in Tampa this past week at a conference. Hotel was located directly adjacent to Amalie Arena—where the Lightning (NHL) play.
Sitting at the hotel bar, I was asking one of the bartenders (a local) which team was the favorite in terms of people in bar/buying drinks?
Since the hockey arena was so close by, the answer “Lightning” wasn’t surprising. But what did catch my attention, was how little he said the locals talked about the Bucs. Even with Tommy, he said he would actually hear more chatter about the Rays (MLB) than the Bucs.
Not that the Bucs are chopped liver around there, just that people seem to be much more diverse sports wise. IOW, it’s not a “one-team town”. -
For as much crap as this guy gets, if he could just get settled somewhere, he just might produce.

Joe's going to have one hell of a lawsuit on his hands because of this idiot shooting at kids, he might get taken for everything he's worked for.
Likely not. As it does not appear he had any direct involvement (discharging the weapon/directing the discharge of the weapon/supervising the discharge of the weapon), he might only be vicariously liable in litigation because the discharge took place on his property. Think of it like a shootout in your backyard--you had no direct involvement, thus no negligent wrongdoing. With that said, if there is shown to be a pattern of having dangerous people routinely on or in your property, he could have an issue with negligence per se, but that is stretching it a bit.
In any event, if he is sued, his home insurer should defend and indemnify him. The only exclusion there would be if he was intentionally or criminally responsible for the injury.

I already have. Stanley cant even make our squad on a regular basis (and we have some weak defenceman) but he wants a trade. The request was a joke here in Winnipeg. Shut up, play better and good things will result. Whine and sulk and nothing good comnes from it
Noted.
(BTW, I really like the Jets' retro alternate sweater. Those old-time WHA looks always catch the eye)

They sold off his position to a far better player, so suck it up and play another spot. Or quietly request a trade. He and his agent should know at this point no team would pay him more than $12M per year, the guy needs to prove he is dependable and durable. He is far closer to a backup LT than a starting one at this point.
Tell Logan Stanley to "suck it up", if you are going along that route.
Non sequitur for non sequitur.

Or maybe he should just STFU, play RT and actually play better.
Or maybe getting out in front of a situation where he is looking out for what will be the best for both he and the team. They did, after all, just sell off his slot to someone else.
Yeah, just shut up. If I had a dime for every NHL or MLB player who had asked for a trade, I would already be retired to the Caymans

Numbers on the Deshaun Watson restructure:
2023- 19.125 million2024-2026 63.96 million per year
2027- 8.97 million (void)
They must be banking on the cap going up really high.😂😂😂
That has to be the most oddball restructuring I have seen.
Bobby Bonilla lives!
Pretty solid bet there will be a second restructure in 2024. Benny used to do his almost annually.

What has changed? We have a 3 time probowl left tackle for the next 4 years. We majorly upgraded a spot that was a weakness.
And we always knew that Bates was gone, it's why we drafted Dax Hill.
Last. Night when this happened I told Go I couldn't wait to wake-up and watch the people bitching to find a way to keep bitching that it would be hilarious.
So thank you for the laugh this morning
Why is healthy skepticism always “bitching” with you? I have seen enough of it from your keyboard over the years to recognize—and appreciate—it.
A broken clock is correct twice a day. Bates was always a great bet to be gone. Bell wasn’t, and neither was Hurst. So excuse me if I would still be skeptical of the overall effectiveness of spot-starter Dax and/or whatever draft pick. Same at the TE position. I suppose being open about it goes against your groupthink principle, but that’s OK.
For as much as it matters, when considering this signing, it is a great day to be a Bengal fan. Hope you have a great one too.

First off: this truly is a fantastic deal. It helps the offense immensely in the main area it is needed…the main area.
However: other than likely meaning Mixon stays—and with it the glaring need to address the devalued RB position immediately—what has changed? The yawning gaps in the deep secondary and TE are still wide open.
Of course, since it’s now only Day 2 of official FA, wait and see continues.

Seems to be a lot of that.
But hey, as long as it gets that spare change freed up for the QB, means equal the end.

I don’t even find these trade “scoops” fun for just mockery purposes any longer.
Some guy gets on a blog…makes “my sources say…what I’m hearing” commentary…and then on to the next “scoop”.
If they were as creative as their brethren in the world soccer “news” fronts, they might still entertain. Those are so laughably stupid, they make you howl. These flaccid things being put out—and incredibly portrayed as factual—are like fingers on a chalkboard.

So we get to play the part of the Washington Generals for another canned Mahomes Miracle? No thanks.
And don’t think they don’t have a come-uppance in store for BUF’s benefit also.
In the AFC Triad of Tentpoles, the Bengals are still the least of the three for the league

If Whit stays they probably win more than 2 games and someone else drafts Burrow. Just sucks the only standout OL on the team now was a free agent signing. Volson and Carman are maybes but they really need to hit on an OL draft pick or two.
I would wager that 2019 team would still not have won more than 2 games with or without Whitworth. That the ‘19 line was able to muster what it did at the other 4 spots, was at the epitome of its production.

I can envision the NFL going “halfway” on the rule change..if they don’t table it altogether. Not certain what hybrid form of this could be created…but whether watered down or full-strength, this would be one that would be impossible to regulate adequately

There cannot be a real explanation. I always wondered why there were so many more of them in Columbus than our side (or Dayton for that matter). Some of it was likely “my Dad loved them so I do too.” Also THE imports half of the college-age population each year from NE Ohio. When they graduate/drop out, they tend to stay in the area—hence their allegiance remains as well.
I suspect much of the nationwide presence of them could be due to migration (jobs, etc). When I lived in Vegas, I ran across a boatload of ex-pats. Everybody was from Elyria..Akron..Medina…
I have also come to the conclusion that “fandom” no longer necessitates actual commitment. Cool gear=“I’m a fan”…or “I like Mahomes”= “I’m a fan”..until the next shiny thing attracts attention. Money is always green, so if a franchise can make coin and/or “fans” from said cool gear or names, it is as broad as it is long, I reckon.
The Cleveland Football Team does, it appears, have more actual “fans”…because their gear or names certainly isn’t driving anything.
