I'm curious which of the player's they are targeting they will settle on.

    EDGE CHRIS BRASWELL, ALABAMA
    DI KRIS JENKINS, MICHIGAN
    C JACKSON POWERS-JOHNSON, OREGON
RB TREY BENSON, FLORIDA STATE (replace one Benson with another)
    WR TROY FRANKLIN, OREGON
    EDGE BRALEN TRICE, WASHINGTON
    DI BRADEN FISKE, FLORIDA STATE
    TE JA'TAVION SANDERS, TEXAS

So many great options when the Bengals make their 2nd Round pick. Same goes for the 3rd Round.

I've heard/read that JPJ has had some concussion issues that may scare teams. Also, that he's got a quirky (my word) personality that may rub some teams the wrong way. Dunno.

A22 is sometimes deceiving. I just watched his highlights and you see a bunch of plays where McCarthy extends the play and Wilson finds a hole and they score. I am going to find a way to love whoever we draft.

That's one of the things I like most about WIlson. He is great on unscripted plays... uncanny, really - just has a feel for open spots when the play breaks down. And he attacks the ball in the air. He'll stick his nose in there and get physical, even though he's not a naturally big guy.

IMO Wilson was Michigan's most explosive offensive player - and when a play needed to be made, it was often him that made it.

Thanks, lots of food players left. I suspect Buffalo will start off day 2 with a WR.

Not that it means isht, and I'm guessing that a number of these guys will be gone by #49 - but particular guys I like:

    WR - Wilson, Polk, Franklin

Different guys, size and strengths-wise, but all are playmakers who played well in big games. Like Wilson a lot... plays with an edge, attacks the football, and made big plays in big games.

    IOL - Powers-Johnson, Frazier

Both are tone-setters and leaders. Both Cs play with a bulldog mentality.

    DL - Newton, Fisk, Jenkins

None are "NT big" but all make plays both vs. pass and run. In particular, Newton and Fisk get upfield and pressure the QB.

    LB - Wilson, Cooper, Colson

Playmakers. Cooper, in particular, jumps off the screen. He can cover, pressure the QB, run guys down, etc. Fantastic athlete. Would be a handful on STs, too.

    DB - DeJean, Sanristil, Rakestraw

DeJean is hella versatile and can help on STs, too. Good returner. Same for Sanristil - he just has that "it" factor. Really smart player and makes plays in the clutch. Rakestraw is fearless, and plays with an edge. Very physical.

    Best available for tomorrow

    Johny Newton-Illinois (1)
    Jackson Powers-Johnson-Oregon (2)
    Cooper DeJean-Iowa (2)
    Kool-Aid McKinstry-Alabama (2)
    Zach Frazier-WVU (2)
    Ladd McConkey-GA (2) (C)
    Adonai Mitchell-Texas

    Max Melton-Rutgers (2)
    Ennis Rakestraw-Missouri
    J'Tavion Sanders-Texas (2)
    Cooper Beebe-K St (2) 2C
    Braden Fiske-FSU (2)
    Patrick Paul-Houston (3) C

this is a good list of guys that would be intriguing on day 2. Some good interior OL, CB, DT, or WR. They’re gonna get some good players!

Days 2 and 3 are my favorite days.

I don't see how they could take him over alt but I guess we'll see

Understood - but Latham's more of a masher, which is what Harbs likes. His Michigan OLs were like that. Maybe SD would trade back if their intel tells them they can still get Latham a little later.

That's the thing... the different tackles have different strengths... depends on what you value the most. If you're looking for a LT, maybe Latham isn't your guy. If you want power at RT and the versatility to play inside, Latham is that. Alt is a T, whereas Fautanu can play all along the OL, supposedly. Fuaga wouldn't be a great fit as a LT. Fashanu is a T, might struggle inside... etc.

I think Verse and maybe Latu will go before pick 18.

Both good players and especially with the need for pressure guys, they always get pushed up.

Like Latu a lot especially and I know his injury history scares some teams, even though he supposedly got a clean bill of health. Fun to watch and definitely a play maker.

  7. If true re OT and if 4-5 QBs go in the first half too… that would potentially leave guys like Murphy or even one of the elite WRs available… like Odunze. Here’s 19 names, including 5 QBs, 5 Ts, and 4 WRs who could all go in the top 20. Depending on the order, or if there’s someone unanticipated like Barton or Powers-Johnson who slips in there… could be a find for the Bengals. Ya never know.

QB - 5 - Caleb, Daniels, Maye, Penix, McCarthy

WR - 4 - Harrison, Nabers, Odunze, Thomas

    TE - 1 - Bowers

OL - 6 -  Alt, Fashanu, Fautanu, Fuaga, Latham, Mims

    DL - 2 - Turner, Murphy

    DB - 2 - Arnold, Mitchell

Yeah, Frazier is an impressive prospect, hopefully, the Bengals can get him in the 2nd round.

He is tough as nails… kinda like Braham was. He broke his leg or ankle (not sure which) and limped off the field on his own power, on one leg to avoid a 10-second runoff at a key point in a game.

A wrestler, like Linderbaum was. Would be a great get on day 2.

You are usually a go-to guy for decent Dallas info, tex. They seem to always have stuff leak out before the draft. Keep hearing that the Cowboys have settled on Graham Barton in the 1st, RB Johnathan Brooks in the 2nd. Have you heard this?

Spaulding (aka Jerry’s kid Stephen) pretty much said on their draft presser today that they are going OL in round one. May be a smokescreen but it’s pretty obvious they need help after losing 2 starters, plus Zack Martin isn’t getting any younger. They have Terrence Steele outside, plus Tyler Smith who has played both G and T well, so they have some position flex about which way to go.

They could use some DL help, too, and at WR and LB.  DeMarcus Lawrence has been great but he’s no kid, and they lost Dorrance Armstrong in FA and now that DC Dan Quinn is gone, not sure how they will use Parsons - more as a

rusher or use him more as an off-ball

LB. He’s worn down some when they rush him too much, as dominant a player as he’s been. He’s not a huge guy.

Re OL in the draft, I’ve heard any combo of Mims, Guyton, Barton, Powers-Johnson, Fashanu… depends on who’s there when they pick. They don’t have a lot of equity to trade up and if anything, they may trade back to accumulate more picks.

At RB, Brooks is a popular choice

because of proximity, familiarity and need. But he’s coming off a tough injury and not sure how quick he will be able to contribute. I’ve heard Benson also, even Blake Corum.

They still have got a good roster but there are more cracks in it than before… which is why I think they’ll likely trade back unless there’s a can’t miss value at 24. Barton may be that guy, not sure, but they have done well drafting the OL and he fits a lot of what they look for.

Was watching Malik Wright doing their draft show talking about Mims getting a tightrope and how it was related to his current hamstring issues he had at the combine. Saying its not something anyone should be concerned about long term.

This makes me wonder if Sam is going to have some hamstring issues this season?

As long as he's not planning on walking on it to cross Niagara Falls, I don't think it's a concern. Boom.
