35 minutes ago, Arkansas Bengal said:The Bengals have 10 draft picks in the 2024 NFL draft with four of the first five picks coming in the top 100.
Round 1, pick 18
Round 2, pick 49
Round 3, pick 80
Round 3, pick 97 (compensatory)
Round 4, pick 115
Round 5, pick 149
Round 6, pick 194
Round 6, pick 214 (compensatory)
Round 7, pick 224 (from Arizona via trade with Houston)
Round 7, pick 237
Strange wording. Why not just say, “…with the first four picks coming in the top 100.” ??? 🤨- 1

I don’t remember Akili getting hurt right away 🤷♂️
I thought the worst draft decision they are referring to was not trading that pick for ALL of New Orlean’s picks.- 2

I would visit go-bengals.com on a regular basis and formulate each year’s draft strategy based on posts made there. 😎

The use of a certain word in this post always reminds me of The Three Amigos and this touching story:
A person had just delivered the eulogy of a dear friend, at the end, another person approached the podium and asked "Can I say a word?" The first person replied "Why certainly" The second person said "Plethora" to which the first person replied "Thanks, that means a lot" Now back to your regularly scheduled post
…and I thought of that exchange while I typed in that word. 😎- 1

Trying to understand how the Chiefs have an easier schedule than either the Broncos or the Raiders. Make it make sense, please.
The Broncos have to play the Chiefs twice, while the Chiefs play the Broncos twice.- 1

I think the Bengals need to be prepared to move up a few slots. They have 10 draft picks and 10 new guys are not even making this roster.
Based upon the plethora of mock drafts, and the knowledge of the potential players spewed forth in this forum, I would recommend trading back a few spots in Round-1, still getting a coveted player plus some additional draft capital. THEN using our draft capital to move up in Round-2 and/or get a second Round-2 pick…or Round-3 pick. Let’s have more picks in “the sweet spot”, wherever that might be. 🦗- 2

maybe it’s me, but I don’t get what “more than more of them” means. Either predictive text got him, or “more than more” is some Pittsburgh slang.
Probably meant to say “…more than one of them” and just didn’t bother to proofread it.

He will continue to be nothing. The End.
…but I’m sure glad he was wearing stripes when the Ravens blitzed Joey B. a couple years ago. 😎 -
FWIW, which isn’t much, Mel Kiper is predicting 7 WRs will be selected in Round 1, and 8 WRs will be selected in Round 2.
Seems like a lot of WRs…almost one out of every four picks. 😳

Not sure how realistic Fuaga is at this point, as he's been rising up draft boards through the process.
A question arises: For each player that rises up the draft boards, which player (or players) is falling? There frequently is a player or two that unexpectedly falls in the draft.- 1

[Caveat: My opinions on players are shaped almost exclusively by what you guys say, the articles you post, and the videos that you link.].
Wow, look at who is still available when we pick. Bowers, Murphy II, Mims, Newton, De Jean, Guyton at 18; Fiske and Paul at 49 (I haven’t heard much buzz about Rosengarten).
I think we would be “okay” with any one of those six I listed at 18, so a trade-back (4 or 5 spots) might be desirable…to still get one of those guys PLUS pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd round pick . We could then package some picks to move up, or get an extra pick, in the 2nd or 3rd…and go after other quality players.
[I also think the most painful part of the first-round draft will be seeing Pissburg get a coveted player at 20.]

Minor request: Would BlackJesus or a mod please change the first word in this topic to “Draftable”? -

I can see them trading down if there is a run on tackles early. That might put Sweat in play (assuming they want him) if they are down far enough.
I have seen mock drafts that have a few seemingly coveted players still available at 18, so trading back a few spots and picking up an additional 2nd or 3rd might make sense.
Since we already have ten picks, I would hope that we would also be aggressive in packaging those later-round picks to move up and snag “players we want” instead of hoping they fall to us.
[Obviously, any trade requires a willing partner, so it is not a simple matter.]

I choose to bitch about or praise draft picks on a pick-by-pick basis. There are just so many factors that come into play, including who is ahead of them at that position on the team and who else was available at that point in the draft. 😎
