  1. Brock Purdy says "Nay". I agree that Mixon's departure was sad and not expected. Better to get something for nuttin' though
  2. Mike Gesicki at TE was PFF's 3rd rated FA TE last year https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-2023-free-agent-rankings-tight-ends Hurst was 4th and Irv Smith was 7th. Thought this was interesting at least. He was also under the Franchise tag in 2021 for the Dolphins
  3. Mixon just got traded to Houston....wonder what for?
  4. So who would be our possible alternatives as signed backups or practice squad poaches? I saw Carson Wentz, Cam Newton, Nick Foles, Colt McCoy and Brett Rypien are available backups in another article.
  5. Story looks valid. Crap https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/patriots-sign-will-grier-off-bengals-practice-squad
  6. This is a bunch of sh*t. I hope it's not true. Talk about a really crappy thing to do and even worse that the Bengals let it happen. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/bengals-1-healthy-qb-patriots-231814451.html
  7. Actually I commend the Bengals for going out and getting Grier when they had the chance. If you check out his story there is some fire there. I am curious to see who they will start if Burrow is out. This to me was the big hole after the draft and free agency. Once the strained calf was a problem you realize that a hobbled superstar adds zero value to the football team. The Bengals can win with a serviceable backup - the talent is there. However, the schedule is brutal down the stretch. I suppose sitting Burrow for the next three might be the best scenario if he can't play and hope for the best. This ain't the playoffs like when Mahomes was limping his way to history. There is no way he is going to be available for the tough games this year if he toughs it out. I can't see any scenario where Joe is out there playing against SF if he is not at 100%. They will f'ing maul him.
  8. Not sure how accurate this is but it's an initial look at the cap hit of the new contract: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cincinnati-bengals/joe-burrow-47594/
  9. Browning....not his fault...hope I never have to root for him on Sunday. Or any other day of the week.
  10. I guess I have NEVER forgotten what a pissed off Squealer or Rat Bird team can do to hurt your playoff chances. It makes me want to puke that Porter's kid is a Squeeler....
  11. I would still prefer to find our own Garoppolo that sits for many years....but maybe we can get by without needing to make a high to mid round draft pic for this. Hope it works out. This team deserves to have a serviceable QB2 because they can still win with the players they have as long as the QB and line hold up.
  12. Oh snap....He is married too and did VERY well. Seems like a stable fella.....
  13. Anyone else impressed by Will Grier? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_Grier Seems like his road to the NFL was a bit rough but he seems to have some talent from the stats: College statistics[edit] Season Team GP Passing Rushing Cmp Att Pct Yds TD Int Rtg Att Yds Avg TD 2015 Florida 6 105 160 65.5 1,202 10 3 145.6 36 116 3.2 2 2017 West Virginia 11 250 388 64.4 3,490 34 12 162.7 63 122 1.9 2 2018 West Virginia 11 266 397 67.0 3,864 37 8 175.5 48 90 2.9 3 Career[34] 28 621 945 65.7 8,556 81 23 165.2 147 328 2.2 7 Hopefully he learned his lesson with the performance enhancing drug problem he had that caused him to be suspended. I never watched him play but seems like he has a bit of arm strength and mobility. I might go back and watch the Dallas game for fun. I like to look at it as if we got a free 3rd round pick to be Joe's extra backup if needed. I would not have complained if the Bengals used a draft pick for this season or next. Not that I dislike Browning, but he doesn't seem to have the killer instinct that we need to replace Joe and win in the case of (heaven forbid) something happened. Pretty sure no one wants to see the results of Browning being the starter for an extended period of time.
