I think the problem is he fancies himself a QB/offensive guru like his counterpart, Sean McVay, when he's not.

How did Zac Taylor go from Assistant WR Coach to HC in 2 seasons? It seems like he's in over his head when Burrow can't save the day.

Watch the better offenses.  Motion on almost every play, play action, etc. I just heard a stat that Burrow is dead last in yards throw past the line of scrimmage.  Hard to fathom with Tee and Chase on the team.

Jeffrey Simmons dominated whichever interior lineman up against.

The Offensive line is absolutely the worst in the NFL..

When your highest olineman has a 60pff rating (,Karras) the offense turns to mush.

Add JB injury and this is what you are left to deal with..

    Ugly..

I have a hard time believing the offensive line can possibly be this pathetic based on lack of talent.  Everything our offense does looks like it is in slow motion.

That seems like a no-brainer doesn't it?  It protects Burrow AND the defense, which is getting wore out. Bengals were 15 seconds shy of a 10 minute time of possession deficit. I'm no pretty much fully in the sit Joe til after the bye camp.

We only had it for 10:30 or so in the second half.  The opening 2nd half drive by the Titans was soul crushing.

You miss the point: when the chips go down, the media sharks come looking for a blood libel they can continue to exploit.

Create a “locker room controversy”—whether it exists or not.

Yeah, that is what the media does but the media wasn’t on the field today.  The Bengals had 3 points on 1 field goal attempt.  The offensive line is hot garbage.

165 yards passing against a middle of the pack defense?   Mixon was doing well but we had to abandon the run quickly.

  5. It used to be the only way you would witness really bad behavior or the Prima Donna behavior Go described was first hand.  Now that everyone has a hand held video camera capable of posting video to the world in seconds, we get to witness all the bad behavior, at every level, 24/7.

We even had Oregon’s coach record his trash talk tirade and send it to the world.  That didn’t happened much 30 years ago if at all.  It’s the Steven A. Smith school of sports journalism that probably started with Jim Rome.

writing an article stating F bombs as a valid point of something being out of hand is just insane, even in the midwest like cincinnati. jason williams fucking sucks.

    jesus christ.

id love to eliminate alcohol, absolutely never happen, having the alcohol free sections is even a laugh, as they just walk out to the concorse and pound a beer and come back, halftime, etc..

as a non drinker id love it to be alcohol free.

been educating my son on behaviors at events and in crowds and with people. like you can talk shit sports wise, when it starts getting out of hand know how to backpeddle out of a stupid situation. you NEVER know who is on the other end of a fight, and what, if anything, they have to live for, he has a ton to live for, its not worth it for some fun trash talk at a sporting event. he is off at school learning just how strange of a place people are in their own heads, people getting mad of the dumbest shit, learning peoples insecurities lash at as anger for no reason, etc.  too many adults are living some fake "dont disrespect me" life where fighting or killing someone means less than being in an argument you walk away from and go on about your day.

my kid growing up in parker colorado the whitest place i have ever lived, he isnt experienced in any crowd situations or fight situations other than white kids with feathered hair and some roid rage. he is in an even smaller town in nebraska for school so still not much variety, but there are kids on the football team from vegas, compton, houston, etc. buuuuut its still a private college that aint cheap even with sports scholarship.

so i always teach him and point out stuff when at games na in other cities to try to prevent him from getting caught up in something violent over nothing.

    people are wild.

Wish more parents with kids you son’s age taught them the same.  I was a youth and junior high lacrosse coach for 7 years and a high school ref for 8.

The dramatic change in behavior over the last 10 years, with both the parents and players at the youth level is sad.  Parents throwing F-bombs and racial slurs is something new at the Junior High level.

Trash talking isn’t that new but openly trash talking while standing next to a ref is. Never had fights at any level until my last 2 years as a ref. Oddly enough, it was after the Covid year.  These were not baseball fights either, legit MMA punches being thrown.

Gotta believe social media is causing most of this.

Im gonna get flamed for this, but Im getting the feeling we arent gonna be in the playoffs this season.  That calf injury in training camp forces Burrow to sit the entire preseason, where he misses valuable time and reps, and after how these two performances, its clear that the missing time he lost with the starters is showing.  Defense is doing all they can but the offense isnt doing their job and the losses are showing.

Now I understand our 0-2 start from last year and how it ended. we got into a 10 game winning streak afyer getting punched in the face in Cleveland and lost in the AFC championship game.  I doubt we are gonna run into another streak after being punched in the face again and not doing enough to make up for it in the following game.  And to be frank, if we decided that Burrow still wasnt ready for the regular season instead of rushing, we probably wou.d still be 0 for 2023.  We are 0-2 and 0-2 in the divison, which is close to a dealbreaker for the division title.  Can we at least get a win to get off our backs?? At this point, Im starting to have doubts with the Rams on Monday night.  This is getting closer and closer to a slippery slope, if we arent on one already.

Watching Miami right now and they have motion on almost every play.  Their offense is much faster and more complex than ours.  That is what missing most of training camp does to you, forces the offense to simplify the playbook.

PFT is reporting that the 1 year deal Chris Jones signed with KC has a clause that he cannot be tagged in 2024 . And they have no 2024 cap space anyway so he will be gone next year.

The NFL is the best league for a reason, each team has a chance of turning it around in a short amount of time because of the salary cap.  We are a perfect example.

If Jefferson came to Cincinnati it would have to be an agreement between him and Ja'Marr, likely signed at the same time next off season, to each take less to play together with Burrow - their college QB. Sort of a Big 3 & Lebron to Miami type deal.

That's why I said "dream", as the chances of that happening are not likely, unless they've already planned it out from the start.

Yeah, unfortunately that really only works in sports like basketball where the better players sign multiple GIGANTIC contracts over their careers.  A good player is lucky to get a 3rd contract in the NFL.

Players need to get as much money as possible on their 2nd contract.

If Tee leaves, this would be my dream ...

This makes no sense. The reason we haven’t signed Tee is the price.  That would certainly be worse with Jefferson.

Also, the formula for winning Conference Championships and Superbowls is not to have 2 #1 quality receivers, it’s to have good to great offensive tackles, decent interior linemen and a franchise QB.

Kansas City got their ass kicked in the Superbowl to Tampa after both of their starting tackles couldn’t go and they had zero depth at the position.   They ended up getting rid of Hill and getting more protection for Kermit.
