If a player currently under contract demands a trade and his current team is willing to move him for the right compensation, they'll give his agent permission to speak with other teams and tell him what they expect back. The agent will then find a team willing to both pay the old team and the player.
In Tee's case, he's already a free agent and can speak with any other team in the league. If they want to acquire him without giving up 2 first round picks, they can call the Bengals directly to see what Cincinnati will take for Higgins.
That is true but there is no way the Bengals are giving up Higgins for nothing and I never said anything about two FIRST round picks. That is never going to happen.
Again, the new team has to get a long term deal in place to Higgins liking before they approach the Bengals regardless. It’s a lot of moving parts. These things are hard when you are negotiating with two groups at the same time.

as a cheap slot option on a one-year deal, Bengals could do worse. He hasn’t exactly had great QB play.He is a legit #2 receiver that played well until the Raiders decided to be the 7th contestant in the “This time Josh McDaniels will be a great coach!” game.
And getting rid of Derek Cousins err Carr for Jimmy “glass jaw” Garopollo was genius. It’s like dumping your cute, cool and frisky girlfriend in high school for the hotter always available girl only to find out why she is always available.

First time Watson went 3 and out
fans would clamor for Joe..
Joe had to go..
The Browns have no choice other than to pray Watson comes back and plays close to his previous pro bowl level. You are right, keeping an old marginal backup people AND PLAYERS like is not ideal in this situation.
In fact, signing Winston might cause the same issues but he has way more talent than old man Flacco.

They aren't going to give Tee 30 mil per. But they need to give Bryce Young a chance and Tee helps there compared to taking a rookie WR. Those have a high bust rate and even the ones who succeed usually take 2 or 3 years to get going.
Alternatively, the Bengals could ask for a player in the trade, say Derrick Brown. Likewise with other teams.
1st round WRs have probably the lowest bust rate of any position and tend to be more plug and play than any other offensive position.
The issue with Higgins it is far more complex than a single trade. The new team would need to negotiate a long term deal first before giving away draft choices on a one year deal and the hope they could resign him later.

FYI, not gonna happen
The issue might be that A. Carolina is a terrible organization. B. They don’t want to negotiate with his agent for a new contract.

He is not worth that amount of money, even for the Tag. I don't care what players are getting. Reason, I send you to KC WRs and look at what they are being paid. Their Top WR in Scantling was only making $10M per year and he was and is horrible, and they released him. LOL I wonder how they panned out. Their Top WR now is only getting $3.4M per year. They don't have the CAP space to go after Tee and guess what, they don't need him to win. I will get bashed for this post but, to each his and her own. I say this to Tee...
Higgins has zero power to force a trade. His rights belong exclusively to the Bengals on the tag the player’s union agreed to. He sits out he doesn’t get paid AND is fined per the Union agreed upon rules.

More perspective (not my own mind you, just posting for visibility) on the Tee situation
The Bengals are not being forced to do anything. They own his rights. Period. If he holds out he not only doesn’t get paid but is also fined. If he sits a year, he will wake up next March still a member of the Bengals.

Can't both left and right be shit bags?
If I ever need an agent he would be on the top of my list. He is great at getting his players paid. That is his only job.

Neither are quality starters imo
Good Backups maybe.
Thinking they draft Nix and he spends time learning behind one of these guys. Pretty cheap option.

Simmons was born in the county I live in and on the side of the county I go to a gym to swim at, and where my best friend lives.
Wonder what their plans for Dax are if they are going to bring a vet safety in. Is Dax going to go back to being a backup Nickle and take over that spot when Mike Hilton leaves?
I went to high school at Polk High.

Payton made him average. What is Tomlin supposed to do with him? Tomlin has never had success developing or utilizing a new QB.

Rumors are saying Russell Wilson will take the vet minimum with his next teams since Denver owes him $39M. I sounds like the Stealers are interested. I really hope not.
God I hope so. Wilson is crap. Two teams with great coaches decided he fucking sucks. Go for it Stealers!

And half of the " can't miss WRs" end up as John Ross. It's a coin flip. Tee is a sure thing for a team who can't take the risk.
That is simply not true. 75% of first round WRs end up being good players. It is the easiest position to draft.

At the risk of sounding conspiritorial, I have considered who the NFL might gain more coin from an ultimate AFC winner.
I am just not seeing a SF-Rat SB as being a bell ringer. DET-Rat might be a smidge better…but the best combo would be KC-DET for eyeball numbers. Indeed, KC-SF would be a not-too-distant 2nd.
Dunno…but in who the League would want most…Kermit would be it.
You know there is one team the network definitely wants for all the casual lady fans who will be at Super Bowl parties. Care to take a guess?

I agree with all this other than Lamar getting injured, don't really care about Lamar. The Chiefs however went to a SB on the back of a 5th down conversion & then talked shit about it so fuck them eternally. That puts them in Shitsburgh territory.
Not to mention the travesty call against Minnesota years ago. Minn had a 4th down and their receiver was obviously held in the end zone.
The refs threw a flag. The Kansas City corner took his helmet off on the field and started pleading it was tipped. Refs said ball was tipped when it obviously wasn’t and then told player to put his helmet back on.
They picked up the flags, game over.

Allen is a great ,QB.
His main target is Diggs.
great players but bad potion as teammates.
Diggs gotta go.
Diggs was wide open on that play. It would have resulted in a 1st down around the 15 to 10. Classic Brett Favre play.

Fine, you're looking at it from Tennessee's perspective. In regards to missing on an early WR pick, I present a name to think about: John Ross
As to what a WR is worth at Tee's age in a trade: Tyreek Hill
Granted Tee is not T. Hill but if Hill is worth a 1st, 2nd, 4th, 4th and 6th rd picks, Tee is easily worth a first
Ross tore his ACL and labrum at the UW. The fact the Bengals chose the winner of the underwear Olympics because he could run fast is a straight line is their fault.
6 WRs were chosen before Higgins. All of them are good except Jalen Reagor. Ruggs was on his way to being a superstar until the car crash.
Tee is a good #1 receiver but not as good as guys like Hill, Jefferson, Waddle, Smith, Lamb and Chase. He is NOT worth the 7th pick. No way.
They can trade that pick and get multiple picks. Some of the best receivers were picked in the 20s.

Josh Allen and/or the Offensive Coordinator just plain got stupid on that last drive. All they had to do was to keep stacking the first downs and burn the clock. Instead there were two very long throws with little chance of success…and if one of those long throws would have been successful, they would have given Kermit more than enough time to counter. 🦗
That’s on Allen. The pass was never supposed to be deep. It was a beautiful play but Allen tried to be a hero.

... It was Burrow's old OC from LSU (Joe Brady), and he must've still thought he had Shiesty and Uno on the deep ball.
That play was never designed to go deep. The deep receivers’ routes were designed to open the underneath route which it did perfectly. Allen just playing hero ball like Brett Favre did ALL THE TIME.

I agree. I make the Titans cough up that #7 first rd pick
No way. Picking a good WR early in the draft is almost a can’t miss proposition. By far the easiest position to successfully draft early. I love Tee but he isn’t worth a 7 especially since he WON’T be on a rookie contract.

Tee Higgins requests a trade !

Truth is this may be the best chance for the Bengals to make a deep playoff run for awhile. Burrow PLUS Chase’s assumed contract is going to make it more difficult to fill out the roster after this year.
