1. Anthony Davis was fun to watch this year. So we MKG. Congrats to UK. You guys were the best team throughout the entire season. A young team that played great team defense, shot well from the stripe, and could hit a three when needed. The three things that a natty team needs Doron Lamb was clutch yesterday with those two bombs.

See ya in November!

Yeah, well it would be hard to be one of the best teams in college basketball history 2 years in a row, starting mostly freshman.

I think the reason they are so good this year, besides obviously having the best freshman the NCAA has seen in some time, is because T.Jones and Lamb stayed. I could see Lamb staying another year, but I bet Jones is gone.

For such a young team to play defense and shoot free throws so well is astounding. It's like a team full of seniors who want it more than anyone else. If they can get past the intra-state game, I don't see how OSU or KU could even slow them down.

UK has a potential to be stacked next year. They have an excellent chance at landing the top two recruits in Nerlens Noel and Shabazz Muhammad and Anthony Bennett who is in the top 10. They already have 3 in the top 40 coming in. Ryan Harrow will be eligable next year and they are trying to bring in Alex Oriakhi from UConn for next year. Wiltjer should be much better next year and Hood will be back to add good depth on the bench.

A starting lineup of Harrow, Goodwin, Muhammad, Bennett, and Noel and a bench with Hood, Poythress, Wiltjer and, Cauley would be the most talented team in the country.

I don't think they're getting Shabazz. All signs point to UCLA. No idea on Bennett. I know he wants to go and play with Shabazz but I don't think that's going to happen. Harrow just wasn't very good at NCSU.

I just don't see them being a power house next year. Noel will be good. I just don't see them being like they were this year.

I think the UL fans that say it are the ones playing with house money. If you are truly wanting a National Championship then playing UK would naturally be your last option given the season they are having.

I really don't buy into the pressure that us supposedly on Cal. He's got an elite 8, two final fours and will have another recruiting class that will most likely get him in the mix again. It's Cal's the best opportunity to crush Pitino. I just don't see Rick recovering from a final 4 loss to UK and 4th straight loss to Cal and UK.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. I'm glad the match up is happening as this really the ultimate climax since Cal set foot in Lexington. There's so many story lines. Rick beating Cal's but with his 1996 UK team. Now Cal has a team that could rival that team. Then their history in C-USA.

I think this one is going to be close no matter what.

You really think UK is going to be FF good next year? Doesn't seem like they're getting their typical badass recruiting class they usually get and will probably be losing probably at least 4 guys.

This game should be good though. Both games should be, but you know Pitino is going to have his boys ready to try and beat UK. I think it's going to come down to the last few minutes. It won't be a Baylor blowout.
5. Looks like their three point shooting is going to be their achilles heel this year. I'm not sure how they have been this year so far, but only shooting 20% thus far. Sticking with a very, very, good Carolina team whom is shooting 70%+ from 3.

This team, is really good. Going to need to find a guy whom can drain some 3's consistently. I know Lamb can, but it seems like the offense runs through T.Jones and Anthony Davis (Whom should be starting on a NBA team right meow. He's unreal.)

I didn't say they didn't deserve the ranking they had. But that doesn't mean they are the 4th best team in the country. I'm a UK fan, but do I think UK is the best team in the country right now? no way. I'm saying the rankings don't mean a lot.

Besides....I think we can agree that MSU and Kansas are down this year compared to past years. By the end of the season, those wins may not look that impressive.

Maybe they aren't fourth, maybe they aren't first. They are a top 10, and will be a top 5 team by the end of the year. Taking that win away from OSU is discrediting them on how good they really are. They put up the third highest offensive efficiency against Duke since 2001. Ohio State just spanked an extremely good team.

MSU and Kansas may not be as good as in previous years, but they both have Naismith type player of the year candidates on their team. Nothing to laugh at. They will both be solid top 15 teams once the season gets down the stretch.

I won't hijack this thread anymore with that though. I expect OSU to have a really good year, with a deep run in March. They have everything they need. Good post presence. A really good point guard. Good leadership and a lot of good guys who can contribute off the bench. A lot of traits of national championship team.
7. WOW. Foot-in-mouth.

Thought he was a goner for sure. Probably going to lose a lot of money, but it's great for college basketball. They need more kids who want to be a collegiate athlete in college basketball. Wonder how this will effect Gilchrist though. Unless they plan on playing him at the 4 with Davis at the 5.

Going to be a very, very, very, good UK team.

Scratch that. He was a 4 last year.
8. Jones will be a lotto pick. Young, filled with potential, and can be a wing/forward combo. If Liggins comes back, he is going to lose a pretty penny. 2nd round picks aren't guaranteed contracts and that's where he will go next year if he comes back and has to be a 5th scoring option. His stock now is as high as it gets. I think he is the least likely to come back due to that fact. Knight and Jones can improve their stock, Liggins is on the outside looking in.

Edit: I just heard Chad Ford call Liggins an undrafted prospect. Maybe he will come back. I thought he played well when I watched him.

Good thing is none of them hired an agent so they can still back out. I would expect at least one of them will be back.
I don't know. B.Knight is a for-sure lotto pick. Probably top 10. Terrence Jones is likely a lotto pick in the weak draft and DeAndre reportedly has some financial obligations and he likely won't have a stock much higher, with Gilchrist coming in and next year's draft being insanely deep. I would assume all three will be gone, which is a shame, because that team would have been loaded.
10. Wow. Can't wait till college instills a 2 and done rule. I'd like to see a either go to NBA straight from high school or two years. I know the NBA probably wouldn't do it..but it would weed out the players who just don't really give a damn about their college team.

Not saying these guys are..by all reports Brandon Knight is a great guy and Liggins is a junior and it's a pretty shallow draft and he should get a guaranteed first round contract out of it.
11. Kind of crazy to think that they didn't go with the team they had last year, but are somewhat favorites to win it this year. Bad news is that B.Knight and Terrence Jones are nearly locks to go to the NBA draft. Good news is that they have two of the best forwards and the best PG in the nation coming in next year.

Can't even hate. UK is a top 3 program right now. Getting Lamb back would be huge for UK.

If you think UK is gonna blow OSU out you are nuts. Not saying they cant win, but no way they blow them out.

Two scenarios. 1: Osu isnt shooting real well and it is a really close game going either way. 2. Osu is shooting well and they blow out kentucky.
Well Purdue beat OSU by 13 and I think UK is a better team than Purdue. Not saying it's going to happen, and it most likely won't, but saying there is no chance? Whatever you say buddy.
13. I'm so excited for this game. I think it will be the most exciting one of the S16. UK is a little bigger and more athletic than OSU, but OSU is more technically sound. Jones vs. Sully will be huge.

OSU has started slow in both of their games. If UK jumps out and gets a big lead and puts pressure on OSU it could be blowout city. If OSU jumps out, I can't see a young team like UK coming back from a big deficit. The key is getting out fast and and staying there. I'm definitely rooting for UK. OSU is just a load and probably is the favorite to win it all at this point.

Either way, getting to S16 with this team is huge for UK. They will be able to build on it big time with the absolute monster class they have coming in next year.

Can't believe how much of a disappointment Jon Hood has been. I really thought he would come in and be a dead-eye shooter and I was seriously bummed when Duke missed on him.
