If he wasn't a known sex offender and they didn't give up 2 years of top draft picks on top of $250m guaranteed I would agree it makes good sense for them. A move that desperate though? I think it was a hail Mary to try and stay relevant in the division.  Hell I'd have to think hard about giving up all that for Burrow. Sure he's HoF material but if something goes sideways we'd be screwed for the next several years. No way Watson will live up to that deal.

Can't get it out of my head that Watson is about to be involved with a fuck up of major proportions and be out of the NFL for a long

period of time or perhaps permanently.  Maybe one of his one night stands from a decade or so will suddenly decide it was rape and

    sue him.

Too bad we see him in the first game of the season because I think he will be bye bye by Bye Week.

From the guy who is wrong far more often than right...

That’s a direct result of the Bengals not being settled at RT. 100%.

***** This is exactly why they did it.  Trying to exploit what they perceive as a Bengal weakness.

You think the Browns made a trade just to potentially beat a team they play twice a year?

Yes.  Beating the top team in the division twice will go a long way to getting them in the playoffs and keeping us out.

If the Bengals do not find a solution to the question mark at ORT we currently have.

Getting someone in the backfield that can block and keep Joe Burrow from getting cheap shotted would help

a lot, too, and that leaves out Joe Sixgun.

And this guy will help win a few more of their games too.

I think the intention is for him to replace Vonn Bell.

Yeah, I think he is the eventual Bell replacement - and his presence allows them to go 3 Safeties whenever Lou needs to and one of Hill or Scott maybe gets the TEs...

Oh, yeah.  I 100% agree but since we are going into the season with three quality Safeties, how about making one a part time Tight End coverage specialist

esp vs teams with a strong TE?  TE's were Marvin killers for most of his time here.

Aren't you going to be sick that day?  I think it's just a 24 hr. bug, nothing too serious.  They say lots of rest and watching television around 4:25p Eastern really helps one feel better with this type of thing.  I'm not a doctor, but trust me.

WOW!  You're absolutely right.  I think I feel it coming on now.

    Thanks Doc.

  5. All this hype for a game that's 7 1/2 months away.

    I love it!

Also give me 7 1/2 months to come up with a way to tell

Lady Friend Lorraine that we aren't doing anything New

    Years Eve.

My New Years plans are to come home, build a nice fire in

the fireplace and bond with the Bengals.

Actually, can't think of a better way to bring in 2024 than

with a Big W over the Kansas City Kermits.

What the fuck is the point of giving a QB a 10 year deal if you have to rework it every 3 years when he's no longer the highest paid.

Chiefs should tell him tough shit, that's the whole give and take of taking the half billion dollar offer up front.

My Debbie Downer thought is he (and others) are one injury from killing an entire season or more.

Also... putting that much money into one guy is going to come back and bite them in the financial butt sooner rather than later.

Tennessee Titans cut 3-time Pro Bowler Taylor Lewan: 4 logical landing spots in NFL free agency

    Cincinnati Bengals

For as talented as the Cincinnati Bengals’ offense has been the last two seasons, their offensive line has been their Achilles heel. Even at full strength and with a stud tackle like La’el Collins, it is not up to the level it needs to be to keep superstar QB Joe Burrow upright and healthy all season. Lewan’s injury history should worry Cincy considering what they dealt with in the playoffs, but his talent is worth the risk in trying to get back to the Super Bowl in 2023.

    ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::;

With our history of Rent-A-Tackle and as a place holder/bookmark until (dare I say it) next year's draft...

If the price is right, add him to the mix at ORT with injury prone L'Eel and underachieving dicy Carman and

Joe Baggadonuts they picked up in free agency earlier... Dunno...

    Whattaya think, Vern?

Oh... the other three "logical landing sites" were Chicago, Seattle and Houston

  8. CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A former Cincinnati Bengals player has been sentenced to six months in jail, according to court records.

Michael Johnson must spend 180 days in jail, Sports Illustrated reported.

The sports magazine says that the sentencing is in connection to the former defensive end not paying $96,000 in attorney fees, child support and spousal support to his wife.

Sports Illustrated reports that his wife and her attorney say Johnson has over $10 million in assets and has not paid the money he owes.

In 2017, Johnson was the Bengals’ nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.

He has not played in the NFL since 2018.

  9. The NFL has come down hard on five players for violating the league’s gambling policy, suspending three players indefinitely and giving two others six-game suspensions.

"Quintez Cephus and C.J. Moore of the Detroit Lions, and Shaka Toney of the Washington Commanders, are suspended indefinitely through at least the conclusion of the 2023 season for betting on NFL games in the 2022 season," the NFL said in a press release. "These players may petition for reinstatement at the conclusion of the 2023 season.

The league also suspended Lions wide receivers Stanley Berryhill and Jameson Williams for six games.

Enough to make them refile charges, I guess.  Probably a gun visible.

If there is video of him waving a gun at a woman from road rage, then he's out of second chances and send him packing (no pun intended).

Which is why I cut my comment short.

There are lots of surveillance cameras there, we walk right

down Walnut between 5th and 4th on our way to the stadium.

Just not sure what or how much it shows.  Keep my speculation to myself

Also from the article (Legal Analysis Mark) "Krumbein said refiling charges after a dismissal is not typical."

    which does not sound good.

But, yeah, cut his ass now and get it over with.
