Hurts still had a year left on his $4M deal so the signing bonus now gets spread over 6 years (and not the 5 length of the extension), so it sperads out more of that.

Overall, Burrow and Hebert will be in the same ballpark and that will leave Monmmy's boy to bow his head and head back to the Cravens.

Joe has two yrs left on his deal (one + the option) so that'll give the Bengals some room to taylor a good deal. They all know that the trick is to do it in a way that doesn't gut the rest of the team. This is something Tom Brady understood but Aaron Rodgers didn't

Well, when you guarantee 230 mil over 5 years and only count 20 mil on the cap in years 1 and 2 combined, it leaves some big numbers for years 3-5. That void year is the Browns saying Watson will be a free agent in 2026.

It's going to be tough for them to cut him after 2025. He's already got a cap hit of $73mill if he's cut after the 2025 season and that's assuming they don't do another restructure. The Browns just don't know how to play this cap game

Well, Orlando essentially took less money to play LT, Williams may do the same. I think though, the salary is guaranteed but not like a bonus up front so any team that trades for him would assume the guaranteed salary. Or via some agreement we pay a portion or perhaps mixed in with some conditional picks.

Or maybe he should just STFU, play RT and actually play better.

Players never give up guaranteed money, nor should they. I'm not seeing how he could be with another team 'cause I don't see the Bengals paying any of his salary. If some team does want him and his salary, the Bengals will say thank you very much

I would think anyone who trades for him assumes his guarantee and then that team would probably want to also re-do his contract. And perhaps re-do the contract prior to the trade via agreement that is).

Jonah's not going to give up money he's already guaranteed so the only way he'd agree to re-do the contract is if they add years and more money. Another team would really have to fall in love with him to do that. I don't see that happening

"Cap Hell" is always a prediction. It rarely happens. The Saints are currently projected to have a huge negative amount of cap space for 2023. They'll make some cuts, restructure other players, and be in cap compliance as the league mandates. They won't be big participants in free agency. How good a team they have next year will depend on coaching, health, their rookies, etc. If they fix their QB position, they could be division winners. If they don't, then they'll struggle.

Not really going out on a limb here: The Saints will be really bad next year

if he does it now , he'll get the signing bonus and then be taken up from 9 mil to the new wage,  and 150 mil i just threw out there '''

so make it 40 mil/year for 5 years then. ,

but if he wants to keep the team together then he wont go 50 mil a year, if thats what he wants (and he's worth it) then he'll be playing on a 9 mil in 23 and the option year in '24 . so sign for less now  would actually pay him sooner.   the bengals would be smart to pay him less and let him wait, IMO if he wants more then sign sooner for less , but he'll make alot more sooner.  my point is he can make 9  mil +15 mil in the next 2 years total of 24-25 mil (i dont know the option year amount)  or he could sign for 40 mil/year and make  80 mil in the same time period,

Yep, if he does it now, he'll take less money for the next 2 yrs 'cause the Bengals would be buying out those "cheap" years on his existing contract, so the per yr money won't look as impressive but it's still a good deal for both sides. It also gives the team lots of ways to deal with it salary cap wise

  7. Regardless of who's in power, we need to keep the filibuster. Without it we'll have yo yo'ing of laws everything power changes. Congress needs mechanisms like that to encourage bipartisanship because as well agree, neither side is interested in it now

So it's only "stacking" when the Democrats do it, what a surprise.  Curious if you support a theocracy or if it's just a "my team" thing?

Republicans never threatened to increase the number of justices, ie stacking. So Don't know what you're referring to. Trump got his Justices in based on current law
