Gut tells me Billy B and Petey boy aren't in the pictures as they turned to younger minds..
And that is not a bad thing….

Year after year, Bucky Brooks finishes last in how close his mocks are to the actual draft.

That’s true. I guess he’s also another branch for McVay, who was a branch for Jay Gruden, who was a branch for Marvin.
It’s like Amway, pyramid scheme

No, let's find a good TE and sign him for more than 1 year.
And let's not trade up for a TE. We can get a Stover or Holker on day 3. They're both better and more rounded than Irv Smith.
I beleive Stover is returning to school so he is not in this draft

Hell, they bail on the run after a series or two even if it DOES produce...
They have really only run the ball with intention when they are up in the score and running out the clock. Otherwise, they lean far too heavily on the pass, we all know that , defenses know it so Zac should also know it.

Do we know when he will be back? From what I understand he got the same injury Reader did?
Ivey was ACL I believe which is essentially the same injury as Chido (sorry cannot spoell his whole name). The two positions where ACL's are the most damaging to a career are RB and CB so we will have to see how he comes back. Every injury is unique is the counter-point.

^ My issue with Latham, is on the play that ended Alabama's season in OT, he got put on roller skates and driven backwards. (See RT)
That is 1 play - have to judge him on more than that. It would be like drafting the guy who beat him in the top 10 based on the same play. You have to look at his whole game tape and what he does at workouts, etc.

I could see the Bengals passing on both of them.
For sure - a definite possibility just based on thier drafting in the past

Except I never heard Romo or the pre/post game Yakking Heads mention Joe Burrow once. If they mentioned anything, it was still Pat vs Josh.
That 3-1 stuff is cool and all for our internal enjoyment. Other than some X flyers, the big media doesn’t really sound interested.
They would be interested in we were in the playoffs, becuse we are not, there is no use for them to mention it. They have to stay in the moment as they say. Whatever the game is or possible next opponent is - those are the only relevant talking points.

Now DET goes to die in SF.
It is really hard to trust Purdue, he can look very Dalton like at times

I wouldn't be surprised if KC made him a good offer. Chicago also makes sense.
KC will likely have cap tightness and they may still try and sign Jones . They need both OL plus WR

Brugler already banging the drum on Murphy over Newton for those interested in adding a game wrecking interior defensive lineman. Gun to my head - I think that will be the position they end up picking.
Brugler has said Newton will get unfairly knocked druing the pre-draft process for height and arm length etc. BUT he is a serious disruptor

Whatever direction they go at TE, they can’t put a lot of dollars at the spot at this time. Likely same group as last year plus perhaps a draft pick

Speaking of old Marv, he apparently is going to be on the new Raiders coaching staff in some capacity. Probably mainly as a mentor to Pierce which is smart.

I was a Jake Fisher fan. Thought it was a home run pick. Unfortunately I underestimated the effects of what playing in a spread offense does to o-linemen.
I know I sound like a broken record…but…it’s not just the Bengals that are struggling to draft good OL, the entire league is being affected.
The advent of the spread in college has completely decimated NFL OL rooms.
I agree and it is talked about a lot on Sirius NFL channel. I remember after that draft thinking 2 OL that should solidify the OL for multiple years.

And yet, Jake was drafted where he was projected. There were many draft reviews, but this one was pre-draft, so perhaps more relevant:
But the ketchup...the KETCHUP....that was the key to those two picks.
We all know the draft is a crap shoot to some level, but when we draft OL it is almost always shit hitting the fan instead.

I guess Tomlin is showing off his inner Marv Lewis these past few years.

Another FA Oline signing...
Sooner or later you have to hit
in the draft .
Alot of money on that line that's barely
adequate.
I don't know.
Exactly, if you can have 1 0r 2 guys starting on the OL on the cheaper first contracts it makes a huge difference.
