oh yeah.
i am fine with a 3rd round comp instead of a 6th..
lol how does the nfl make that kind of mistake?
i guess it goes along as par for the course with the bills game decision to treat every team as if the bills had won so coin flips/ neutral game sites etc.
and ignore all the forfeited game rules they put in place for covid .
and not one as if the bengals had won the game they was winning before the game stopping incident

Rankins strength is pass rush?
i hope we get the lead and it works out that way,
however we set up our defense that way last year and when we fell behind it didnt pan out so well.

According to Forbes, the Cincinnati Bengals' revenue in 2023 is $498 million and based on the increase in the salary cap the 2024 revenue will be even higher, so $22 million is %4 of the annual revenue...or crumbs.
The Bengals don't have to pay him, but that doesn't mean he should not get what he deserves, which is a long-term deal at market value, which is around $22 million a year.
yep and after he gets paid he'll be one of them crying cause he had to pay 5 mil of his 22 mil and have to live off of a meager 17 mil next year . unlike the rest of us that win by only paying 10k of our 80k income and manage to survive on $70k , so yes get what you can, but for now the bengals possess his playing rights , and they paid 22 mil for that right, so the demands fall on deaf ears here.
here's an idea go out, convince a team to give you the contract you want and then trade for the right to sign it,
i believe that option is open for Tee and the megadollar agent .
so sit do nothing and get nothing
or the agent can go earn his pay.

Battle and Stone should start
Hill backup to them plus snaps at slot.
Keeps all fresh .
thats all well and good, but its a physical sport what do you do when one of them goes down, it would not hurt to have Bell (a player that produced in this system) as a back up, of course we dont break the bank on him and make it clear his job is to mentor and back up the safeties .

as much as it may be the tactic of this agent, Tee is still the person that has the end all power of that deal, i truly understand wanting the most generation changing money he can get, however, there is no "demand " to be traded, if he wants to be traded then go find a team that is willing to not only give you what you want from the bengals but to also step up and give away the draft pick for him . the bengals also have the right to decide if he gets traded, if Tee was smart he should negotiate a one year deal for the near tag amount (guaranteed)but not allow the bengals to tag him next year.

why dont we keep Jonah ??? did you think our OL play was acceptable?
No! there is your answer on Jonah.
so we blame the lack of a run game on the RB,
we dont blame the QB for poor pass blocking
we also seem to blame the RB....,
Do you all seriously this just changing out Mixon and running the same 5 OL out again is going to fix everything? let alone fix anything?
didnt we have pretty much the same 5 out there all year ?
well once the preseason was over and we let them play in live action on day 1 reg season..
the OL needs fixing. the only reason we seen any improvement from the start of the season to the end is because they sucked so bad in week 1.

yep , teams will franchise a wr for 21 mil without batting an eye, but for a punter to ask for 3 mil a year and its blasphemy ....

According to PFF he pas blocked 8 times and had a grade of 26.7. About as low as you can get
yeah i didnt think it was much if any.... LOL I have seen alot of "mixon sucks at pass blocking so he has to go..." and they want to replace Mixon with that.. i say that, because if you cut mixon, thats who you will have.

did any of us even notice C Brown blocked? i wonder out of how many snaps did Chase brown actually pass block?

Williams struggles more with Garrett than Lael Collins did. I'm not in favor of bringing Collins back and doubt anyone else is.
but lets be honest . the oline was better with Collins at RT then it was with Williams. and i am not saying i would want Collins back.

even rounding it up to 3 sacks a game, the games i watched find that number incredibly misleading, even doing quick passes the qb rarely didnt either take a hit or wasnt under pressure. and that was with a high majority of shotgun formations.

I'm glad they have another guy with a lot of OL coaching experience. That said, wonder how Pollack took it, and how well will they work together? Could be a great marriage but could also be some contention there. Will be interesting to watch.
If nothing else, having another voice as they get to FA and draft player targeting could be a good thing, IMO. Lord knows they haven't figured it out for a long while... at least in the draft.
honestly with as much how our qb got hit and our rushing attack faltered , if Pollack takes offense to it , and doesnt admit he is right, he isnt the
OL coach we want.

but if history repeats , they replace the OL that got Burrow hurt.
i say they replace Williams.

and the best defense is having the offense on the field. way to many 3 and outs, its a team game
time of possession
wk1 24 to 35 min 3-27 loss
wk2 26 to 33 min 24-27 loss
wk3 36-24 min 19-16 win
wk 4 25-35 min 3-37 loss
wk 5 38-21 min 34-20 win
obviously there is more then just time of possession
and sometimes it is on the defense to get off the field
but the slow starting offense did not help
-
actually i think we showed we are more then just a joe burrow team, but zack cant get out of his own way.
design/adjust your scheme around your players,
do not try to make players work in your scheme,

what... paying someone 12 mil dollars to play a position he's not played and only giving him 1-2 series in preseason to learn it after coming off a injury that ended his last season? then having a immobile QB playing in the shotgun for the 1st 4 week? yes Jonah needs to go, but the OL unit as a whole under performed , to me that speak of either coaching or scheme, or both .
-
i think once again he showed he will not change his idea for an offense scheme to fit the players available..
so hopefully he learned that dont work ,
hopefully he learned sitting the starting offense for the whole preseason, still doesnt work ...
and
hopefully he learned that building a defense to defend the pass , doesnt work if you never have the fucking lead because your dipshit offensive ideas dont work against the teams in the division you are playing..

Bengals are fundamentally conservative in their spending. They don't want to go all-in. They call that "mortgaging the future".
So every offseason they are in good cap shape but don't maximize the spending. IMO this past season was the time to go all-in.
yes but with burrow being out or hurt 3/4 of the season, and then Reader went down .. frankly the OL played way under what they was being paid.... so i am glad they didnt , however , this year though if they are going to is the year to. then need reevaluate the OL coach Pollack they just arent getting it done. , i would franchise Tee (if he doesnt want to sign) hopefully get boyd to stay with a decent but cap manageable 3 yr deal. let the 12 million dollar RT go. , then focus on the defense. we set up to cover the pass , but with our offense being so inept at times we got run over.

and this is why we cant have nice things around here.....

i am with the , if the player is not 90-100% healthy then you sit them crowd.
it is time to learn what we can about this roster .. so lets see if this punter can handle the pressure. i would tell him if he under performs in anyway , he is getting cut. not were bringing in competition next year.. he is gone .. if he can handle that then maybe he can grow forward.
the OL either steps up or we move on with them .
i wouldnt be afraid to pull any of them to make a point and let them sit for a series or 2.
-
if the coaching staff would get off this shotgun formation only kick , then our offensive tackles play will improve simply by making the ends move in closer and pay attention to the inside of the line rather then get to spread out bust 2 -3 step up and cut in all momentum in a forward direction and causing the OTs to step back and out to engage them with all momentium going backwards

i get you dont like Mixon,
but once he's gone,
whos gonna be the new Horse for you to beat ?

very true, but the first word from him..... "nothing" and at the end "i hope this makes the locker room board..
