Jumpy Posted April 13, 2007 Report Share Posted April 13, 2007 I just watched a two hour long show waiting for the long long talked about boxing match between UFC President Dana White and Tito Ortiz for nothing. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about. When Tito Ortiz's contract was running up and a new contract was being negotiated, Tito said that he wanted to go three rounds in the ring with Dana White himself. He and White have a long history and they do not get along, but thats a long story. Dana agreed to it and they have been promoting it for eight months. So I turn it on tonight and they show both guys training and talking smack. Mostly they follow White around, who trained like a mad man and lost like 30 pounds for this thing. They needed to get the fight sanctioned by the Nevada gaming commission and did so, just barely because they thought White would get seriously hurt. After eight months of hype, Ortiz sends White a text message "I'm gonna let you off the hook, and not kick your ass." and no shows to the official weigh-in. So the fight didn't happen, all I did was watch Dana White train for two hours. I'm freaking pissed. Tito Ortiz is a fucking pussy, he asked for the fight, he got it. White was in the ring waiting, and Ortiz didnt have the guts to show. Maybe he took it too lightly and saw how serious White was and didn't wanna look bad. After all it was going to be a Boxing match, White was a boxer most of his life, and it is known that Tito is not that great with his hands. but shit, hes ten years younger, in incredible shape, and a professional fighter, against a guy you hasn't even worked out for years before this. So I lost a lot of respect for him. On the other hand, we may have been dooped. They may have been in on it all along and their never was going to be a fight. But why would Ortiz do that? He has and will lose alot of face over this. Maybe he did it to make White go to all the trouble to set this up for nothing. I am a little pissed at White for leading us along all show like he did only to say "He didnt show, there wont be a fight. Not now, not ever." The gaming commission was pissed. But at the same time, he had to get something out of it, I bet the show got good ratings and he showed Ortiz to be a pussy. How does White not fire him now? Breach of contract. I'm just mad about the whole thing, the guys at work, my other buddies and I have been talking about this fight forever and it was a big let down. I dont know who to be mad at, I'm just mad.
