White Tie

So I finally reserved the tuxes for the wedding, which is to take place on Feb 7, unless my betrothed comes to her senses before then.

My groomsmen are going to wear the standard dinner jackets, with red waistcoats and red bowties.

For myself I chose white tie full dress (I just learned about all these terms sadly), consisting of the tailcoat, white waistcoat and white bowtie.

It looks something like this:

I'm also going to buy a collapsible satin top hat:

So I am reading up on everything and learned that white tie is considered appropriate for only after 6:00PM, whereas our wedding is at 4. I was supposed to get a morning suit tuxedo like so:

Also all the groomsmen are supposed to be the same dress code as me.

But you know what--it doesn't matter. Because it's going to be awesome. I just hope I can pull off the ultra-formal look, even as while committing a legion of etiquette errors.

:1hump:

Good luck with marriage, it's definetely been a mixed bag for me (gained a life partner, mother of children, lost my penis and freedom, etc).[/quote]

Why? What happens? Do you mean I get to hug her?

I am looking forward to it. We are already basically an old married couple, so I am pleased to make it all legal.

That might be too much. I don't want to cross the line from "Dapper Dan" to "Danton to Magnificent" or "Mr. Peanut." :D

I did look at the poweder blue tuxes...not my thing.

Although I would be down with dressing up like a warlock or a Dark Elf Necromancer and having a Fantasy-themed wedding. Oh yeah, that's what every lady dreams of.
