Video Card Upgrade

My HP Pavilion p6210y is almost a year old and I'm already looking to upgrade the graphics card. It came with an NVIDIA GeForce 9100, which runs everything I like to play, just slow or with graphics levels turned down. I'm looking to upgrade so I don't have to sacrifice the eye candy for performance.

I've been reading on HP's user forum and it sounds like they are some compatibility issues that are over my head / experience level. It looks like a GTX 285 is a good fit but here's my question, it that card an upgrade over my 9100? I honestly don't know. Any recommendations?

I'm playing StarCraft II which runs slow and Dragon Age Origins, with the graphic levels turned way down. Thanks

Two great sites I use for video card research:

Tom's Hardware list is updated every month or two. That's the latest one.

Tom's Hardware is an awesome site. I learned more about power supplies and video cards in the last week or so than I ever had previously.

Thanks for the link.
