A former quarterback at the college level, Rascati has been an offensive coach for a while now after spending time at the college and pro levels, but believes he learned a lot from being the offensive line coach with the Minnesota Vikings. “I would say I wish I did this 10 years ago before I called plays,” Rascati said to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “Obviously, you want to build your system around your quarterback and what his skill set is. But I think it’s also important to kind of see it through the lens of the offensive line. “I think it’s helped me tremendously from a run game standpoint to protection plan to really understanding more than scheme. More technique fundamentals. And what problem looks they may have and how to handle it. And how to really protect those guys because, in this league, games are won at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. You can quickly get exposed at this level with your protection plan if it’s not sound.” While Rascati won’t have as big of an impact on what the offense looks like as many other coaches will, the way he views the offense is still a good voice to have in the room.

2024 NFL Mock Draft

CB is my Dark horse. If they fix RT in FA, and fix DT, and Bowers or a WR they like isnt there. I'm ok with it. -

DT Offseason 2024

imo this is the most important position on Defense to fix, double dipping with one in FA and one in the draft would be ideal -
I think they wanted Zack Carter to be that guy, but he's been a bust so far. They need to get a guy that can do what Ogunjobi did for sure, it is the biggest difference in our D going to shit. Apple gets too much BS, yes he was toast against Kupp in the SB (and I blame some of that on Lou because as soon as OBJ got hurt they should have moved coverage to double and triple Kupp), but he was also the reason we were in the SB in the first place. The stats dont lie, he was a very solid CB for us.

2024 NFL Mock Draft

Mock Draft Monday, there wasn't an RT there that was worth passing on Newton, but the combo of Newton and Sweat alongside Hill would fix our run D and our Interior pass rush pretty quickly. Also got a C for when Kaaras' deal is up this year. . Jer'Zhan NewtonDT Illinois 49. T'Vondre SweatDT Texas 80. Sedrick Van PranOC Georgia 115. Blake CorumRB Michigan 147. P Offseason 2024

I normally think it's a mistake to give up on a guy after 1 year, but I do want competition here at minimum -
Well that's a take I guess. Battle played pretty well last year once he started, I think he is going to be fine. Hill needs for sure needs to step it up. Overworked breaking down Hendrickson just got the most sacks in a year he has had, but ok. Hubbard I agree was worn down, but that's why we will see Murphy getting more snaps to spell him this season. The Texans were dead last against the run 2 years ago, They moved into the top 10 (number 8 ) in 1 year, the front office has work to do here but its not impossible to fix. So you don't want to pay Tee or Chase, but use the money on the defense. Isnt that exactly what you were worried about with the dutch boy analogy? You're kind of all over the place here. We can afford to keep Tee on a 1 year tag, Jamar is still under contract, Joe's money doesn't hit for another year. We can keep both WRs, at least for one year, and get some help on Defense. Personally I believe it needs to be at the DT spot for vets as that's the place where the FA market is rich with guys. We can get a Eli Apple type to be a backup in FA, we don't need to get starters, the young guys never get better if they don't get snaps.

2024 NFL Mock Draft

Yeah Cappa has been solid, a bad game here or there, but overall he's fine. Volson not so much. -
Yeah I have no idea why they haven't tried to replace Carmen at this point. I feel like you give a guy at least 2 years starting to see if he can do it. 1 the first year in the position where he is getting he feet under him, and in the 2nd year if there isn't marked improvement, then you start looking for something else.

P Offseason 2024

Listening to Darrin Simmons on Laps podcast the other day, he said Robbins knows he has to work on consistency, that he got better over the year but at the start had some he was sure he wanted to get back. Sounded like they are going to watch to see how his kicks progress. I think you got to get some competition for him. I know it would be a PR nightmare but I'm not opposed to going after Azaria. -
WR Offseason 2024
Jamie_B replied to MichaelWeston's topic in THE BENGALS FORUM - For Bengals Fans *Only*
Not me. Reader is not on the team right now, I like BJ Hill but he's better in a rotation. We have almost nothing at DT. Having a WR2 that is basically a WR1 is a luxury and it's much easier to get WRs in the draft these days. That said unless the trade is for a high 2nd or a 1st I'm not doing it. The value has to be there.
