  1. I think the changes might have happened at least to some degree with Joe's comfort level doing them, if he had gotten a training camp and preseason. That's the time when you get the reps to install new things, and a not just week to week changes, but large system changes. You saw them doing some of the under center stuff and play action stuff with Joe before he got the calve injury. I think the injury prevented us from doing that and forced us into running largely the same offense as last year. Clearly we are seeing how well the Oline has been playing, at least so far, from having a QB under center, and how that has protected Browning and how it has opened up the running game. If we can get that with Joe, and get Joe comfortable playing that way, I really believe this O would be the top O in the league. Lets hope Joe can FINALLY get a training camp in what will be his 5th year, this offseason.
  2. And this.... Gaining a lift from less true pass sets and exposures to empty, protection shined. They only allowed three pressures against the Colts, according to PFF, a season low. They also snapped a 42-game streak of allowing at least one sack.
  3. By the way the article @dex referred to Bengals offensive rebirth: What changed, what hasn’t, what’s next - The Athletic This can not be understated. “The more you can do, the more looks you present to the defense and the more that all those looks have multiple things you can run out of those formations or those sets, I think it makes it difficult,” Browning said of increased usage under center.
  4. IIRC when not under pressure Burrow had stats in almost every category at the #1 or #2 spot. This is exactly why I wanted to get in the top 10 and get a RT of the future that could slide into LT when OBJ is gone. Then get a good guard to replace Volson in round 2. This team would be almost unbeatable if we could keep Joe upright and if we could run the ball like we currently are. All of that comes down to getting better on the Oline.
  5. Yeah, hopefully we can make up for it in 2 weeks.
  6. As long as Browning doesn't come back down to earth we should win this
  7. This is exactly why Burrow needs to get a full camp and preseason to work on being under center more.
  8. I'm sitting here watching the Titans not open holes for Henry and he isn't going anywhere. I'm not sure what magical unicorn RB you guys think can get yards without an Oline opening holes for him. Henry is the best back in the league and he's getting maybe 2-3 yards on carries like these. Pretty much what Mixon gets when the line doesn't open holes.
  9. Ok You guys forget we got dog walked a few weeks ago by them? I get Joe went down that game so the O had an excuse, but the D played like trash that game. It's been an issue all year, they have been up and down all year.
  10. I think they had plans on Joe doing more under-center stuff, you saw some of it before he got the calve injury, the problem is the injury set him back from getting reps with it which pushed them back into the same O as before because he had no time to rep the new stuff. I hope to God he can finally get a training camp and preseason so we can install new things on the O next year.
  11. Hea been here 2 years, not sure that qualifies as a fast rise.
  12. This week's Bing AI Image Generator actually had a couple that were good.
  13. The other question here is with the way Browning has played are we looking at having to replace Dan Pitcher?
  14. If we get in the playoffs and win a game or two Zack deserves coach of the year votes. He has not made Browning run the Burrow offense, he has tailored it (no pun intended) to what Browning does best. That's the sign of a good coach.
  15. Before Browning showed he wasn't the guy that sucked in the preseason (and sucked in the Steelers game) tanking imho was the best option considering how many guys we are slated to lose this offseason. At this point Browning balling out has put a kabosh on tanking. I also at the point don't know that I believe we can beat the Ravens. My best hope is for Browning to continue to ball out and hope we can use him to trade up into the top 10 to get a top tackle for the future.
  16. We're too up and down for my liking. If the O and D can play like they did this week then sure, if they show up lame, especially the defense, we're in trouble. I really haven't seen much inconsistency from the Ravens, that's what scares me.
