  1. I thought he changed his name after he got married... Jim Everett-Lloyd
  2. Love this. Bills fans, trolling the Ravens, to slam the current Browns, over a thing the Titans did.
  3. All tickets are gone. I have an extra pair if anyone would like me to transfer them to you. Just lemme know.
  4. BTW - I would love to see Boomer toss one to Chad that Monday Night.
  5. According to Pro Football Reference dot com, the only Bengals who were on the regular season roster for both Boomer's final season (1997) and Chad's rookie year (2001) are: Willie Anderson Marco Battaglia Rich Braham Canute Curtis Corey Dillon Brock Gutierrez Jevon Langford Tony McGee Reinard Wilson As the two starting offensive skill position players on that list, I'll bet McGee and Dillon would have a lot to say about playing with them - albeit with Corey's ongoing dissatisfaction the messages would likely be quite different. For the private reception thing I mentioned earlier, I'm confident Liz will get Tony and Willie to come say a few things - and roast both Boomer and Chad quite well in the process. I'd love to see her invite Corey too, just to see if he would be willing to play nicely and indirectly boost his case for an earlier ring invite. His numbers and importance to the team have never been questioned, the only think holding him back has been his PR. As bitter as he has always been, Ive always thought he was sincere in his criticism - he just lacks tact.
  6. Go-Bengals says Krumrie and Esiason. That's also how my/our STH account voted after polling all four households. We'll find out tomorrow what the voters said. If it matters any, I would prefer that starting next year, only ONE of the two spots were decided by popular vote, with the team themselves making the other choice. My reason is simple - recency bias. Though limiting votes to STH's is absolutely a good thing, it is still true that players like Chad and AJ, and even Timmy and Reggie, will always be "fresher in mind" than Lap, Trumpy or Lemar. Players like Boomer and Collinsworth also have that advantage due to their visibility in media. There are few who are voting who have direct memories of the Old Guard, and I believe that creates a bias against them. By allowing the team to designate one, and let the popular vote select the other, that bias can be at least partially overcome.
  7. Check emails now - I just got mine from Pumkie. There's a presale code you need to enter from your email to access tickets. Max is 6 tickets - at least for me it was.
  8. Back Together Weekend - Linky: https://www.bengals.com/team/back-together-weekend I attended this last year - it was kinda cool but geared more toward kids and people who have never been inside PBS than the more seasoned ticket holders. Gates opened at 1, practice began at 2:15 and ran until 4. There was some interaction between the fans and players, and there were plenty of distractions from the PA announcers, Maria, and Liz, who engaged with the crowd frequently. Altogether not a terrible way to spend a VERY hot afternoon in Cincinnati, and definitely worth the price of admission. Season Ticket holders - we should get an email from our account manager today (Tuesday 7/18) with your TicketBastard link to get tickets. IIRC there was a limit of 4 tickets per account last year, unknown if that's the limit this year. Tickets are 100% free and are available only to Season Ticket and Waitlist bubbas for two days - General public gets access on Thursday.
  9. Man, Ickey sure is larger than life. (2014) But I guess all of us age differently (2019)
  10. I believe that was the 50th season celebration. They recognized many players each week - likely they included Collinsworth on the week he was working the Bengals game, because the mix of players introduced at each game was quite random.
  11. BTW - STHs need to monitor their email. Last year the team held a reception the night before the game - Wednesday - for the honorees. With the event on Monday, I expect the reception will be on Saturday this time. It wasn't free, but it was very cool and I recommend going if you can. Adding: It was $60 each. Came with free food - there were 4-6 stations serving an assortment of grub including tacos, BBQ, a carving station - plus 2-3 dessert stations. No limit other than what you could carry, and could make as many trips as you liked. Also included a couple of drink coupons for beer or wine, plus a cash bar for exotic beers or mixed drinks. Got to meet the enshrinees plus many other Bengal legends. Willie signed my White Bengal mini helmet. Was held in the East Atrium and there were maybe 200-300 attendees IIRC. Also Adding: The emailed announcement and invitation went out about a week and a half before the event. If that's the MO, expect it mid-September from your ST Account Rep.
  12. I don't think that matters as much as y'all think. Thursday last time was an early season national game. The Rams this time is an early season national game. Every dude on the nomination list can make a Thursday or a Monday night. Every single one of them.
  13. "The Bengals will induct the 2023 Ring of Honor class during a primetime Monday Night Football game on Sept. 25 against the Los Angeles Rams. The Bengals Ring of Honor recognizes former players, coaches and individuals who have played a significant role in the franchise's history and tradition. Voting for the Ring of Honor took place from May 22 – June 11. The ballot featured 13 nominees. The two former players who received the most votes will be announced next week."
  14. We have a date, need only the names now. Monday Night vs LA Rams
  15. We have a date, need only the names now. Monday Night vs LA Rams
  16. I went ahead and closed the poll. Our top vote-getters were: 16 Krumrie 11 Esiason 10 Johnson/C 8 Fulcher 3 Brooks 3 Dillon 3 Lapham 3 Montoya 2 Parrish 2 Williams/R 1 Collinsworth 0 Amish 0 Tibor
  17. Mahomes context..... Two days ago a video of Ja'marr was released - dunno it was shot this week or it it was from a while back. Interviewer: "you were asked about the number one player in the NFL, with very little hesitation you said..." Ja'marr: "Joe Burrow. Joe Burrow, everybody knows that, yeah. He's my MVP." Interviewer: "He said Pat." Ja'marr: "Who said Pat?" Interviewer: "Joe!" Ja'marr: "Pat who?" Friendly ribbing, and Mahomes responded in kind. Not a fan of Kermit, but if the tables were turned and Kelce said "Joe Who?" in the same context, Joe's response would've been appropriate. I have no problem with this and will allow it. 19. I may have posted this photo previously but the story behind it just got more interesting. Following our playoff victory in Buffalo, this photo came to me via either FB or Twitter. It's stunning. I reached out to the Bengals yesterday to see if they knew the photographer. I wanted to give him/her credit and contact them to purchase a reprint to frame. The team did not disappoint as they got me in touch this afternoon with the gent who snapped this. Photo Credit: Seth Tanner Seth provided me a high-res copy of the photo for free and gave me permission to use it as long as I don't use it commercially. Amazing what you can accomplish just by asking.
