  1. Nick Scott on how well Browning did taking over for the 1s on Friday ... (which is promising)
  2. ... Likely yes. They are now hinting at a 4-6 week recovery timeline, which would run right up to the first game.
  3. Since Miami signed Apple today to replace the recently injured Jalen Ramsey, this essentially occured ...
  4. Bengals Signing Quarterback Reid Sinnett Following Joe Burrow's Calf Injury Cincinnati plans to make the deal official on Sunday. JAMES RAPIEN 4 HOURS AGO CINCINNATI — The Bengals are signing quarterback Reid Sinnett according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Sinnett worked out for the team on Saturday, along with Drew Plitt. Cincinnati opted to sign the 26-year-old Sinnett, who most recently played for the San Antonio Brahmas of the XFL. "It'll be good to get another arm in there because that's a lot of throws for these two guys," Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said on Friday. Burrow is expected to miss most of training camp. Sinnett will serve as Cincinnati's third quarterback behind Trevor Siemian and Jake Browning. Sinnett signed with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He's also spent time with the Eagles and the Dolphins. https://www.si.com/nfl/bengals/news/bengals-signing-reid-sinnett-following-joe-burrow-calf-injury
  5. It's been announced the Bengals are signing QB Reid Sinnett, to help with backup duties while Burrow is out. Bengals fans may remember Sinnett from the 2021 Preseason 2 years ago, when he led the Dolphins to a last minute victory over the Bengals and threw for 343 yards. So the Bengals coaches themselves saw him firsthand and I remember there were rumors back then that they tried to acquire him to be Burrow's backup, but the Dolphins held onto him following the preseason. So who is Reid Sinnett? Interestingly ... on the bio front, he is a clone of Burrow, at the same age, height, similar weight, and also born in Iowa. Reid Sinnett Age: 26 Height: 6'4 Weight: 225 lbs Born: Jonhston, Iowa When the Bengals played him back in the 2021 preseason, he threw a last minute TD pass on 4th and 15, that also eerily looks like a play that Joe Burrow would make, he even did the Shiesty-like roll out and point to the WR ... y2mate.is - Reid Sinnett with Insane Winning Dime Looking like Rodgers Dolphins vs Bengals-_eczQu2wvK4-1080pp-1690642337.mp4 Now, none of this is to say that he is even half the QB Burrow is (a living legend), but he doesn't need to be (as this is Burrow's team for the next decade). The Bengals just need a competent backup QB and maybe he is it, and will hopefully get a chance to battle in camp against Jake Browning - who also shows potential and has the best High School stats of any QB ever (for the record I am not a fan of Siemian at all). I swear that I told my Brother after that preseason game that the Bengals should try to pick him up as a #2 as to me he passed the "eye test" of having the "it" to make plays, so I am actually happy they now signed him. I don't think he's just a "camp arm", though that is possible. But I think and hope he makes one of the final 3 QBs.
  6. I actually think the name change was better, since they are named after Edgar Allen Poe's poem 'The Raven' (as the poet lived in Baltimore and is buried there). So at least there is a connection that makes sense. The "Browns" team name should have disappeared for good from the NFL landscape, but they brought the Mistake on the Lake back, like a bad STD that won't go away.
  7. Kelce punching his teammate in scrimmage ... ... Probably frustration that Burrow isn't out for the season.
  8. ... I have had this sneaking suspicion for awhile now that Ivey might be a massive steal and just as good as Turner (maybe even better?) He looks the part, more than any of the other CBs. Man if him and Turner are both starting quality the Bengals would be set with 4 top quality CBs ... A huge luxury and unheard of in this league.
  9. ^ Re: lack of "lasers" I think the team should continue working with Browning (who has potential) ... But I have no faith in Siemian and would prefer they sign someone else like Reid Sinnett. Maybe the 49ers would give back Brandon Allen for a 7th rder?
  10. ^ Paycor logo kind of looks like Nike swooshes if you squint. Bengals got lucky that the color was already orange as well.
  11. ^ Reid Sinnett is the QB for the Dolphins who put up 343 yards on the Bengals in the 2021 Preseason ... bring him in for sure. I always thought he had some game to him. Here is Sinnett throwing the winning TD on the Bengals ... y2mate.is - Reid Sinnett with Insane Winning Dime Looking like Rodgers Dolphins vs Bengals-_eczQu2wvK4-1080pp-1690642337.mp4
  12. * If you were going to have a 6 week injury better to have it with 6 weeks until the season starts, than in week 1 ... and start out 2-4 rather than 5-1. Plus history shows that Joe doesn't need training camp or preseason ... in fact, if the Bengals win the Super Bowl this year, I think he would have proven yet again that he does better without one - and should voluntarily sit out of them in future years.
  13. Since there is 6 weeks until the first game ... this might fit right into that window. It would be nice if he could spend that last week before the first game (at 5 weeks) doing some stuff on the field though.
  14. Trevor is a career backup with 7 teams in 8 years, but Browning has a decent pedigree and may have some untapped potential if given a chance. Browning was the nationwide Gatorade Player of the year as a Junior and Senior in High School and set a record for most TD passes ever for a HS QB his senior year with 91 (in one season). Browning clearly has some juice to his game. Whereas I think Siemian is more a game manager.
  15. ^ It would be a small consolation if these increased reps can reveal to the Bengals that Browning can be their backup QB. Something they might not have realized otherwise with him getting very little work.
  16. ^ Re: Tee not participating could be a precaution related to his contract extension. I would fully understand if he said he wanted to get a new deal done before continuing to risk injury.
  17. ^ Re: Jonah ... Oh now they want to be cautious! Yesterday it was "sleeve it up time". Better to learn late than never I guess. *(I'm still bitter about them letting Burrow practice yesterday and almost ending the season before it began).
  18. Good. I would have just had them to do film study after yesterday. As another major injury today would really cause things to spiral out of control (like what usually happens to the Ravens at their recent camps)
  19. I don't think the team is as close to a Burrow contract as others do. However, with him now sidelined, I think they have more time to focus on getting one done. Hopefully I am proven wrong and he signs in the next 3 hours.
  20. Next time something hurts enough to need a sleeve, they need to keep him out of practice. He is the entire season. The one indispensable piece to the entire organization.
  21. When cutting the video of Warrick's punt return for the PR poll, I also came across my favorite catch of his from the same game in 2003, when the Bengals upset the 9-0 Chiefs. Probably the best pass Kitna ever threw in stripes. Warrick 2.mp4
  22. Packers already stealing my "no camp to stay fresh" strategy? ...
  23. ... I wish I was. I have the opposite. PTSD anxiety, as if it was my own son out there (and I don't even have kids). 😖
  24. As an aside ... I would think this makes Joe more likely to want to sign his extension ASAP. Although this looks like it was not a serious injury, imagine if he had blown out both knees, with 200 million dollars in guarantees sitting on the table. It also might make Tee reconsider playing out this year, or even this preseason without getting himself a nice signing bonus as well from an extension. Especially since he has not made that much money yet as a 2nd rd pick. He could have 50 million in guarantees sitting on the table.
