  1. Exactly. Don't whiff on the pick because of some perceived need. We need the best players we can get regardless of position.
  2. And miss an average of 8 games per year over the next five seasons.
  3. So glad we didn't get him. Potential John Ross all over again.
  4. No Boyd resigning, no likely Higgins extension...he's feeling good about OTA's coming up and really looking forward to all of the Summer and Spring workouts.
  5. I'd love for the Bengals to take Cooper to play CB. We can add a great WR in the 2nd Round. There's almost no bad choices for the Bengals in the 1st. Can't think of anything that would not be a good selection.
  6. I posted this two days ago at 4:00 p.m. on another site (I might have posted it here, also, but I can't remember): John Lynch was quoted as saying that the 49ers have 22 players listed with 1st Round grades, which is higher on their board than their average number of 1st Round grades on a given year. The 49ers and John Lynch are among the very best at evaluating talent. They hit on more players than other teams do since Lynch has been there. So, one of the huge questions about the draft is, "how many 2nd Round rated QB's will go in the 1st Round and in the top-22 picks that would push some of this 1st Round Graded talent down further in the draft". For teams like the Bengals, who pick at #18, that's a huge question. If the board followed the graded talent that the 49ers have given, then that would make 5 players left for the Bengals to choose from that are truly 1st Round grades. Add in a team like the 49ers, who sit at #31, and they are going to be eyeing a trade into the early 20's to grab a player they think has fallen significantly. There's almost zero chance that the 49ers are going to not be active on the trade market on Day 1 of the draft. They'll try to make a trade with one of these teams: 13) Las Vegas Raiders 14) New Orleans Saints 15) Indianapolis Colts 16) Seattle Seahawks 17) Jacksonville Jaguars 18) Cincinnati Bengals 19) Los Angeles Rams 20) Pittsburgh Stealers 21) Miami Dolphins 22) Philadelphia Eagles 23) Minnesota Vikings (from Cleveland through Houston) I went as far as #13 as I find it highly unlikely that the #13 pick will be owned by the Raiders when that pick comes up. Again, for every QB that isn't a 1st Rd grade that goes before the Bengals' pick, that's one more player that falls to them that they can get giddy about. Of course, many will be getting giddy about them.
  7. The Jets have sent the 10th overall pick to the Vikings, also dealing No. 203. In exchange, New York will receive Nos. 129 and 157 from Minnesota in addition to the 11th choice.
  8. OT is not a necessary choice. Picking a Pro Bowler can be done at several positions when it's our choice, especially if another QB gets taken. We should have a choice of half a dozen true potential pro-bowlers.
  9. That's the pick the JETS needed to make. They need to look past Rodgers, while at the same time, giving Rodgers the time necessary to survive a 21-game season. Without an O-Line, Rodgers won't make it out of September.
  10. Bo Nix is a type of QB that works in Peyton's system. He threw more to halfbacks than any QB in the NCAA last year.
  11. Great pick, though. Cousins' time is numbered, and he's probably tradeable a year or two considering how much a Starting QB gets. I also know that it takes 2 QB's to get through a 21-game season if you expect to win the Super Bowl. And, shouldn't the Super Bowl be the goal? Penix also gives them a chance to resign London and Pitts and this RB who is pretty good before having to resign Penix.
  12. It was 50-50 if the Giants would take WR or QB with the 6th pick, or if the Chargers would make a trade. I think it is just too difficult to move up this season to move into those spots.
  13. Latham kept rising and the Titans must have fell in love with him.
  14. So, that one Center is the one we took, apparently, because if ours wasn't a bust, then they need to redefine the definition of bust.
