On Tuesday I posted that Byron Murphy was claiming that Seattle was taking him at 16, and that Xavier Legette claimed he was told directly that Carolina would be taking him with their pick at 33. Easy to believe that everything is misinformation, I guess, but as draft day get closer sometimes players do get told this point blank by coaches. And they actually mean it. Murphy was taken by Seattle as promised while Carolina traded up one slot with Buffalo to make sure they got their guy Legette.

This is hilarious...

Nice group of players, but Xavier Legette may be the first player taken tomorrow night with the 33rd overall pick, by Carolina. Unless someone takes him at the end of the 1st round, which seems unlikely to me.

Zac Taylor says Mims will get work at both tackle spots.

Can't say they didn't vet him in the lead-up to the draft.

The guy the Bengals wanted was Murphy. I'll bet the Bengals will get plenty of calls to trade back. Maybe they will take one. Maybe Philadelphia.

The Jags have a dire need for a CB.

Murphy will go to Seattle at pick 16.

There are some murmurs that other OTs like Guyton go off the board before Mims. Character concerns with Mims. Guess we will see.

My prediction for the next four picks. New Orleans takes Fuaga, then 3 defensive players go between 15-17 (arnold/Murphy/KMitchell).

I just read that pick 18 is expected to come off between 10:30-11:00.

Give teams like the Eagles credit for securing their future with these extensions to elite players. They may be costly but they are trying to win championships. When you extend your star players, you can afford to miss on some draft picks here and there. I cannot imagine the Bengals ever giving 84M in guaranteed money to a non-QB like Chase. And if AJ Brown gets 84M guaranteed, I cannot imagine Chase's agent accepting any less than that. So we figure to be back in familiar standoff territory soon enough.
