The right-hander appeared in 53 games with the Devil Rays last season and went 3-6 with a 5.17 ERA and a career-high eight saves. "He gives us some depth and another guy to compete for a spot on the team," Reds general manager Wayne Krivsky said. "He's a veteran who throws strikes and knows how to change speeds." Meadows, who allowed 14 home runs and 90 hits overall in 692/3 innings last season, began his major league career as a starter with the Marlins in 1998 and also has pitched for the Padres, Royals and Pirates.
