Advertisement But the police report is misleading, said one of the men, Ryan Braun. “We were just going to play with it, we weren’t going to steal it,†Braun said. Braun, 23, of Colerain Township, and Ryan Garvey, 24, of Green Township, both face charges of theft and criminal trespassing, according to police. Just after halftime at about 2:30 p.m., Braun and Garvey were leaving the game at Paul brown Stadium, upset at how poorly the Bengals were playing, when they spotted the tackling dummy on the adjacent practice field. “It was spur of the moment,†Braun said. Braun said alcohol played a role in what they were about to do. Garvey lifted Braun, who was wearing a Bengals jersey, over the practice field fence so Braun could grab the dummy, the police report says. The friends were arrested and released from the county jail because of overcrowding. Both men pleaded not guilty Monday in Hamilton County Municipal Court and the case was continued. Braun said his family and friends are disappointed. “It was a poor decision,†Braun said.
