"The good of the game ahead of questions of discipline"???
(FFChamps) NFL commissioner Roger Goodell decided Tuesday that the league will postpone the scheduled four-game suspensions of Saints defensive linemen Charles Grant and Will Smith after they tested positive for banned substances. Goodell felt it was unfair to go forward with the suspensions after the league was blocked for suspending Minnesota Vikings players of the same offense. “This situation presents several unique and narrow aspects that I believe call for us to put the good of the game ahead of questions of discipline,” Goodell said. “Considerations of fairness, uniform application of our policies, and competitive integrity all support deferring the suspensions at this time,” Goodell said. “I am not prepared to treat players differently when the same conduct is involved.”

Analysis: What this means for the Saints and fantasy owners of their team defense is that Grant and Smith could be available for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles and the rest of the season. The Saints could use both of them in applying pressure to whomever will take snaps behind center, whether it's Donovan McNabb, Kevin Kolb, or Jeff Garcia, while trying to contain Brian Westbrook.
Before long, the Players Association with help from the court system will "oficially" run the league. There's too many players that think they are bigger than the league. Trying to duck suspensions, not showing up when they're obligated by contract. It's already a circus and will probably get more out of control.

Would never happen. That would be like the UAW owning a majority stake in Chrysler or something... oh, wait...
