12 years to help wild tigers

For those interested in the cause I have been talking about, here is some news. A summit is currently being held in St. Petersburg, Russia on the plight of wild tigers. It seems experts are thinking tigers can be extinct in the wild in as little as 12 years. Here is the story on Yahoo:

A group of Bengal fans have started this group to help.

We all love this team and in doing so have an attachment to this animal. Regardless of our politics or our views on environmental causes, do we really want to sit back and let these amazing animals go extinct? So we want to sit there watching games with our kids and grandkids and have them ask us what a Bengal tiger is and not have a wild example to show them? Lets do something about this.

As long as there is a Google images button I'll be able to show kids a tiger.

That may be our only option. At least when we have to do that, let's be able to tell our kids that we Bengal fans cared enough to try giving these animals a fighting chance.

It won't take much. If you can give a dollar, give a dollar. If you can give more, give more. If you can't afford to give, talk about the problem to those who don't know. Maybe, because of you others will give. Pretty soon, I am going to petition the team to support the cause. When I do, sign the petition telling the team that we fans care about this.

Whether it is God's will or natural selection that causes these animals to go extinct, so be it. On the other hand if a small effort on our part can give them a fighting chance, lets give it a shot.
