First Post-Combine Mock Draft

Recommended Posts

I am assuming no CBA is in place and that there will be no trades for draft picks in this mock.

Picks based on rankings at CBSSports.com, formerly NFLDraftScout.com

1. AJ Green WR UGa - Immediate impact player, safe pick, not a 1 year wonder.
2. Marcus Cannon OG/OT TCU - I liked this kid before the combine. He did nothing to change that. Moves well for his size and could start at either guard position, or possibly RT right away.
3. Collin Kaepernick QB Nevada - Value for upside here. I don't see Gabbert or Newton worth #4, and I want the best O-lineman available in 2.
4. Tyler Sash SS Iowa - He was on my radar before the combine, and I liked what I saw. He impressed me as much as any of the SS candidates.
5. Alex Green RB Hawaii - if he played for Hawaii, there's a good chance he can catch, and has a good size/speed ratio. Insurance in case we cannot re-sign Benson
6. Doug Hogue OLB Syracuse
7. Lee Smith TE Marshall - one of the better blocking TEs in this draft, will replace Reggie Kelly. He also showed good hands during the position drills.
