CarsonDaMan
http://www.rotoworld.com/content/features/...&articleid=1003 Reds put three players on that list, not very impressive for a team that should depend on their farm system more. Before you bash O'Brien though, go through the players he's drafted the last two years. There are a few very good looking young players, especially from this years draft. But to state the point, until the Reds can build up the system the way teams like Minnesota, Oakland, and Cleveland have, they will continue to suck. Guest #22
91. Homer Bailey - RHP Reds - Age 19 - ETA: 2008 Previous rankings: 2005 #73 2-4, 4.88 ERA, 58 H, 75/42 K/BB in 66 1/3 IP for low Single-A Dayton Wha? How?
CarsonDaMan
Those stats are EXTREMELY misleading. 1. The opponent batting average against him is .225. He does not get hit hard. 2. He averages over a strikeout per inning due to his fastball that tops out around 96. 3. He's only 19 years old right now. 4. Dayton's offense is pathetic, he gets next to no run support. 5. Don't forget the Red mandated "pitch to contact" rule for low minor pitchers. As he becomes more advance he'll have more reign to blow hitters away. A 6'4, 195 lb flamethrower with major potential. He has everything needed to become a true ace pitcher. Just pray the Reds don't fuck him up.
JC
we could always ship the reds players to dayton and win a championship there.

MajorVirus
I wish O'Bien would look at how Oakland drafts pitching, cause they bring up a lot of good pitching from there farm system.
CarsonDaMan
It's not O'Briens fault our farm system blows at the upper levels. Pin that one on Jim Bowden. Dan has actually drafted pretty well the last couple years, but you won't see the fruits of that for at least another couple years.
