Larkin was nothing if not an extra coach on the field and he was a good influence in the clubhouse. He was also great for the young Latin guys...being fluent in Spanish and all. I'm a relatively old fart and in my lifetime (at least the time I've been following sports) the Reds have had two shortstops. Breaking in a new one next year is gonna suck.
