  1. If he wasn't a known sex offender and they didn't give up 2 years of top draft picks on top of $250m guaranteed I would agree it makes good sense for them. A move that desperate though? I think it was a hail Mary to try and stay relevant in the division. Hell I'd have to think hard about giving up all that for Burrow. Sure he's HoF material but if something goes sideways we'd be screwed for the next several years. No way Watson will live up to that deal.
  2. Not consistently this tough, no question. Without looking I'd guess the AFCN claims a Wildcard spot more often than the others & those late season divisional games seem to always matter for at least one of the teams.
  3. I think the completely insane trade for Watson was largely driven by having Burrow in their division & trying to keep pace. I suspect Pickett will be on a very short leash in Pittsburgh for the same reason. This DE is just a good move overall though, I agree it had very little to do with the question marks at RT. 1-5 vs the Browns though, man that's ugly. Bad matchups OL vs DL I guess? Pretty crazy.
  4. Didn't they used to alternate like that as the norm? Now we get all sorts of schedule fuckery to the tune of 3 home games in the space of 2 months.
  5. 3-0 against Kermit in games where he doesn't get a 5th down do-over but sure, OK
  6. I think it's more that the other owners hate MB specifically. Pumpkin seems to want to run things like a modern NFL franchise & with continued success they'll stop looking at the Bengals as a hole they keep shoveling money into with no return. The KC rivalry & the more sibling-style friendlier rivalry with Buffalo are good for business. Marvin almost got to this point but was never on the same page with ownership & it all fell apart. We'll see if they're willing to let Zac cook or not. This Mixon stuff feels very old Bengals to me, or naming Jonah the starting RT. Those don't seem like football decisions.
  7. First playoff run to the SB they were just happy to be there.. Last season was a little bit the other way, at times they looked like they expected a do-over. Think they know what to expect now (& that they have to take the refs out of the game). Also unlikely that Goodell gets another chance to take away a 1 or 2 seed. Homefield through the playoffs should be the next step.
  8. No no, the Chiefs should guarantee his contract. After all, Cleveland gave Watson a guaranteed contract. Are the Chiefs saying they think Watson is a better QB than Kermit? Unfair! 1/2 a because fuck KC for real
  9. Is Kermit mad he's not the highest paid? Why is this important? Imagine having a half-billion dollar contract and still whining because there's not a gold star sticker on it.
  10. Bills-Bengals will be a better game than anything involving Dallas or NYJ. I think Discount DoubleCheckdown may have some gas left but seriously doubt it's enough to carry them. Aren't the designated Rodgers-blowing kneepads worn a bit thin by now? The guys a jackass, nobody likes him, quit trying to make it happen. He's just as likely to be this year's Russel Wilson. Not buying it. And Dallas, who the fuck are we kidding with this Cowboys nonsense. Mickey Mouse sells a lot of merch too that doesn't mean he and Goofy are destined to be SB MVPs. I swear Goodell may disappear in a puff of smoke when Jerrah finally dies.
  11. As shitty as that all sounds it wouldn't really surprise me.
  12. Jebus. I wonder who will "get" to play two shitty TNF games.
  13. Which of their favorites has a star player rehabbing an injury or facing suspension? Gotta make sure they play 6/8 home games against sub-500 teams to start the season. You know, for the parities. Or maybe they're going to announce Tuesday Afternoon Football on NFL+++ streaming service available only with the newest iPhone.
  14. That's just a gang fight with a billion dollar budget. Why even have rules? Why have a ball? Let them go out there and beat each other bloody with chains and spiked clubs. The last man standing wins.
  15. and if you pack a sharpened screwdriver in your lunchpail and try to stab someone in the ear with it that's just fine?
  16. ☝️ If I wanted to see a competition of grown men kicking each other in the shins and trying to break each other's elbows I'd watch MMA. Football is a team sport with rules. If they're going to let some teams ignore those rules it's not really a sport anymore.
  17. If he's healthy, sure, but why would they trade him for a guy that's not?
  18. The time to say something was when they were whining about Burfict after the Antonio Brown flop. Instead the Bengals FO just bit the pillow & let them run him out of the division. I look forward to Katie taking over for real because I don't think she cares about being everybody's bestest pal.
  19. If they declined an option wouldn't that make him a free agent?
  20. Is he healthier than Jonah or Collins, as in able to work right now? If so and he's cheap I'd say why not.. A one year deal with a realistic shot at a ring would be enticing I'd think? Otherwise fuck off, we've already got a vet OT treating this as a retirement health spa.
  21. Yes we may never know who was behind the Donald Trump-led coup attempt to keep Donald Trump in power
  22. Him, Bannon, Giuliani, Thomas, Brooks, Biggs, Jordan, Gosar, Stone, MTG.. The ones being convicted were expendable storm troops. They're easily replaced. Most of the conspirators that planned it are still in office. None of them have been charged with anything related AFAIK.
  23. So the people who actually organized and planned it face zero consequences, the goon squad will get nerf sentences & then later rewarded for keeping their mouths shut. What a shocker. I'm sure they'll do a much better job of it next time.
