One response is "literal" and another is "poetic." Imo, the best translations are usually a combination of the two, in the sense that sometimes the replication of a concept from one language to another requires a little poetry. I'm suggesting poetry here as something fairly rigorous, and not just some sentimental claptrap. Good poetry works like a good joke--it's an array of predicates which leads one to a conclusion that otherwise might not be evoked by a "literal" transcription. Further, the best poetry arranges predicates such that the conclusion/message is pretty universal in scope.
I completely agree. If I were to suggest "In the beginning of God's creation of the Universe" was a better translation of "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" there is a segment of people in which their heads would spin because, "That's NOT what the Bible says!" And by "Bible" they mean the KJV. If you asked those people, "What does the Pentateuch say?" they would likely respond, "I don't read the occult, you damn Satanist," because they have no idea what the Pentateuch is. Those people irk me.

Some have attempted to show contradiction and I have shown their error with context and ommision of the remaining passage which is key in establishing the setting. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 2 Timothy 3:16
Does your version of the King James Version of the Holy Bible contain the Apocrypha? Why not? It did when it was first published in 1611? Over 200 years later it was no longer included. What's up with that? Denomination A thinks Book X should be excluded while Book Y cannonized, but Denomination B thinks Book X should be cannonized while Book Y should be excluded. Why can't you guys agree? Why do you keep changing the Owner's Manual?
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. Deuteronomy 4:2, KJV
Plus, we've already covered the Gospel of Mark, which you agree is shady. Why does Moses go into great detail in Exodus about how he met God on Mount Sinai and received the 10 Commandments, but he doesn't go into the same detail about his meeting with God while God explained Genesis 1 and 2 to him?
So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Beth-peor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day. Deuteronomy 34:5-6, KJV
How did Moses write about his own death and burial by God? Did God tell Moses when he was going to die so he could write it down?
