Guest BengalsOwn
Here's a good one: My company installs electric locks in prisons. One of our locks is on a control room door. The prison administration is concerned about it because the power went out one day and the officer was trapped inside the room (the lock can be opened with a key, but he didn't have one). They asked me "Can you reprogram the lock so that won't happen again?" That was two weeks ago. I still can't convince them of this very simple fact: Electric locks tend not to work well when there is no electricity available. The worst part is that my project manager can't seem to grasp this concept either. Is it me? It's them, right? It's 20 years old and they can't seem to justify replacements in their budget. I gave up. I hate stupid people.

calibengalfan
Don't you still need power to push the air? Or am I just stupid? Don't answer the stupid part! [post="57969"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]
All of our compressors have diesel engines, so no electrical source is needed. And no, you're not stupid. But if you ever need an "electric" jackhammer, just don't call it a pneumatic device, it's not. And Cat I'm guessing UPS is some type of generator. Never heard of that make before. Either way, if your company won't upgrade, they're screwed (as well as stupid). They do realize those things need maintenance, and that they do wear out after time, right? Oh wait, you said stupid people, never mind. Best of luck to ya.

And it's not my company, it's our customer. Although my company has done some pretty boneheaded things lately, too.
