Here's a site that tests your speed. You can do it for free 3 times a month.

Just click the green start button and choose what state you're in.

Here's my results. Road Runner in Dayton.
i have zoomtown, sad to say, as i hate cincinnatibell, but zoomtown is by far the fastest internet availible here in cincinnati, with roadrunner i got downloads of about 100K-150K. from the same sites i get 200-220k with zoomtown, uploads are about 5-10k faster so nothing great there, the shit part is, i dont have a home phone, but i have to pay for a data phone line (faxline) to use the dsl, so i pay like $65/month for the internet when its only $39.95 for the internet cause i need that phoneline.

im in denver right now and this cable internet makes me wat to shoot myself in the face.

and going from my 1-1.5 gig ram to this 512 isnt helping... shoulda mailed my desktop out here with me...

zoomtown wasn't doin it for me here. I had Roadrunner back in Memphis, and cable has always been it for me. I switched to Roadrunner within a week and never looked back.

obviously this test is for braodband..... but im stuck without broadband until friday... this is what kind of connection i get when i plug my blackberry cell phone in through a USB port, jerry rig the modem options to allow full browser from a real computer and connect through the GSM cell phone network (GPRS) to get my internet fix until friday....

Using "back" from the results page
Accessing the results page from a favorites link or direct URL entry
The test took too long to complete; each key is only good for a limited time

then i finally got this:

Communications 38.3 kilobits per second
Storage 4.7 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 3.6 minutes
Subjective rating Slow

jesus christ someone shoot me.
