My argument is that any faith should be allowed to express their views how they see fit, it doesn't violate separation of church of state if all of them have the option to do so, and taking away that option only violates freedom of speech. I don't want to go back to the days where we Christians have to draw fish in the sand to express our viewpoints.

Beaker you'll like this article, it expresses what you've been saying all along about how evolution and Christianity are not mutually exclusive.

That's what I said. He said they ARE.

I was actually entering a response to him saying that I wasn't referring to EVOLUTIONISM, but evolutionary theory, or simply evolution. I believe in evolution. But that doesn't mean that I couldn't beleive in Creationism. Our natural world is so ingenius in it's design and ability to adapt that why couldn't we have evolution as part of God original design? Not that I do believe in Creationism..but I could if I wanted. And maybe I do...or don't..... :ninja:

Careful what you say with the intelligent design idea, you'll start a whole thread war. :ninja: (do a search on intelligent design and you'll see what I mean, this thread is becoming a rehash of that.)

Personally I just think my idea of intelligent design is taking the evolution and saying it exists but that it's not random. (Now that I have a better understanding of evolution)

I don't have specific beliefs as to "intelligent design", only that the argument could be made that the complicated nature of "nature" could be a sign that it was created that way for a reason. I was just using that as a way to say that evolution and Creationism may not be mutually exclusive.

Beaker said that Creationism meant things were created and then put on earth in their current form. If that were exactly what it meant, then that train of thought would already be proven false as we know things are changing due to environmental pressures.

I think it's possible to believe God created what he did in seven days (6 technically) and then made it such that life could follow a particular design and grow and adapt on it's own (basically so he could have that day off to go grab a cold one and watch "I love Lucy" reruns :P )

Seriously, none of this is truly important to me as all I know is that I'm here now, I have a daughter to raise, a family to love, a job to do, a body to keep healthy and many other responsibilities. How it all started? ...beats me.
