heating it up when other teams are calling it a season and putting in prevent defenses and 3rd stringers? that's something to be proud of.

c'mon guys this is the worst thread ever...... Carson was a first year starter last year and put up average numbers, Kordell had been in the league for like 5 or 6 years and put up marginally better average numbers than Palmer.

I know you weren't talking to me about the RB and Defense, but I'll comment on it anyways........ I know you are tired of that being everyones come back concerning Big Ben's success, and hell I don't blame you. You HAVE to admit that having the #1 defense and #2 running offense in the NFL was the BIGGEST reason that the Steelers went 15-1 though. Do they go 15-1 with Touchdown Tommy? Highly doubt it. I am one of Ben's hugest critics, but he did help the Steelers win games regardless of what the opposing teams fans say.

I fully agree that those things were a huge part of his success. Only a complete cuddly wuddly teddy bear would think otherwise.

However, he was still a rookie QB on a 15-1 team. Never been done before and likely will not be repeated.

Having said that, I believe Carson will be a fine QB and that the Bengals should be the 2nd best team in the North this year. I expect a real fight both times we meet up.

yeah I agree. The planets seemed to align perfectly for the Steelers last season. (much to my dismay)

I would have to say that I can't wait until the season to start. Carson's improvement during the year, and his play in the last few games have me absolutely salivating at his potential. And yes the Bengals/Steelers games will be very interesting (and nerve racking) to watch.

In only his first 13 games starting, Carson put up numbers very close to those of a quarterback in his seventh year as a starter in the NFL (even if they are the stats of a lowly Steeler QB ;) ). Not sure where the insult is here, but thanks.
