How can they not realize that if they spent more money to get better players they would probably have a better record. Which means they make more money. That's a special kind of stupid right there.

I vaguely remember an interview with an Eagles (?) front office guy about the way the Bengals structured Jamar and Tee's contracts. Said he didn't understand why the Bengals didn't take some of their upfront money and stretch it out over a few years LIKE EVERY OTHER NFL TEAM DOES. Could have easily extended Trey and maybe had enough for another FA. It's like they don't understand math or something.

I don't know if they have enough money to fill all the holes they need in free agency, maybe if Mike had a direct line to the US Mint. As far as BPA, playoff teams can do that and we are barely competitive. (not saying your post is wrong or anything, I just don't think the Bengals are/will be in the position to do that. The front office isn't capable). As far as the draft, if Downs is gone I want Styles. I'll probably get neither.

Considering the Bengals track record drafting defensive linemen, I'd just as soon they try to plug those holes in free agency. On the other hand, the have to break the streak sometime don't they? Right?

Missed tackles; that's why I want either Downs or Styles in the draft. IIRC both are good in coverage so 2 birds one stone.

I dunno, it seems pretty damn good to me. AS long as Murphy keeps improving the only serious whiff was Robbins (OK, Jones may be whiff adjacent). Wish they would do that every year.
