  1. Correct me if I'm wrong (probably) but is this the fool who drilled Ja'Marr? Should have been ejected immediately. Also upset that something was not done about the ass hat who took Trey Hendrickson's knee out seemingly after the play was over. FWIW, speaking of Hendrickson... my son teaches in a school for... kids with severe behavior problems. He has lost two students to shootings this year. Anyway, Trey has been visiting the school and basically socializing with the kids the past 3-4 weeks. Son said his wife came with him the first time and they found it amusing that the kids were asking for her autograph. 🙂 Last week Trey was accompanied by Joseph Ossai. Anyway, per text this morning Trey was there and per son, walking without a limp. I take that as a good sign. Mr and Mrs Trey and Mr Ossai are good people for doing that and unheralded.
  2. Yep. Can't wait to see what Col Joseph Lee Burrow has to say to Father or Mother this week. Dearest Father. Sunday we were ravaged by an upstart rag tag mob of Texas ruffians victims of out own overconfidence and looking ahead to the battlefield Thursday night in Nevermore and the evasive Rat, Lemur. My usually trusty sidearm misfired twice adding to our woes. We thought the game was won after the first skirmish and did not get back into battle until the final two and a half minutes only to have our hopes dashed by the usually reliable Sgt Boyd dropping a dookie in his bed roll . Also dropping other things elsewhere. In the words of my trusted adjunct, Maj Chase, "Someone else has got to make plays". Love to mother and I will have your old uniform jacket back to you as soon as Pvt Volson is finished cleaning it. Joseph
  3. “If we play like we did today (Sunday vs Texans), we’ll get our ass beat in Baltimore. That’s straight up. We’ve got to bow up or shut up. We know who we are in this locker room, and we’ve got to go prove it.” ~ Mike Hilton
  4. Nobody watched the edges vs Texas. Or the right flat. I don't trust Murphy at all. Would rather see more Ossai.
  5. "Few weeks" means he will miss both the Rats and Squeels...
  6. And had 46 yards. Longest 15 So on the other 10 rushes, a whopping 31 yards. Joe Burrow's longest run was 17 yards.
  7. Sorry tech issues messed up this thread. I wanted to hear what all of you had to say about the "illegal touching" call that cost them a touchdown. I didn't think the views on the scoreboard were all that conclusive. Hoping to hear some stuff here or see a Xwitter.
  8. https://sports.yahoo.com/bad-officiating-cheats-packers Bad officiating cheats Packers on Kenny Pickett’s backward pass Rule 8, Section 7, Article 1 of the NFL Rule Book states that “A runner may throw a backward pass at any time. Players of either team may advance after catching a backward pass, or recovering a backward pass after it touches the ground.” Apparently, referee Scott Novak’s crew didn’t get the memo in Sunday’s game between the Pittsburgh Stealers and the Green Bay Packers. With 3:34 left in the first half, Stealers quarterback Kenny Pickett pretty clearly threw a backward pass to running back Jaylen Warren. The play was ruled an incomplete forward pass, the Packers reviewed it. and the call was upheld. Broadcaster Charles Davis had a serious problem with that, and Davis was not wrong. Rules analyst and former NFL referee Gene Steratore tried to state a contrary case, but there’s only so much you can gloss over stuff like this. Thank you, Gene Sock Puppet... Final Score, Stealers and the Refs 23... Green Bay 19
  9. I am refraining from saying much of anything for awhile until I step back from the ledge. But your turn...
  10. https://www.cincyjungle.com/2023/11/12/23957923/cincinnati-bengals-4-winners-7-losers-houston-texans 4 winners and 7 losers from Bengals’ loss to Texans This was a tough one swallow. The Cincinnati Bengals entered Week 10 as one of the NFL’s hottest teams, but it ended with a crushing 30-27 loss to the Houston Texans. Even though there were flashes, both on offense and defense, overall the Bengals were underwhelming for the vast majority of the game. Here’s a look at this week’s winners and losers. Winners Trenton Irwin When someone said, “Who will step up and make big plays with Tee Higgins out and Ja’Marr Chase hobbled?” The smart money says Tyler Boyd or maybe one of the tight ends, but smart money doesn’t know Trenton Irwin. It’s always Irwin. The Bengals’ opening drive was capped off by a 32-yard pass from Joe Burrow, perfectly dropped into Irwin’s arms, beating Cover 2 as he entered the end zone down the sideline. Irwin finished with two catches for 54 yards and a touchdown, proving once again to be one of Burrow’s most trusted targets. Cam Taylor-Britt The second-year defensive back is making a name as one of the best in the league. He intercepted his fourth pass of the season on Sunday against the Texans, in a crucial moment in the fourth quarter. It was almost a pick-six, but CTB was caught from behind just before he crossed into the end zone. Brad Robbins Robbins was called on a lot, punting in five consecutive drives after the Bengals opened the game with a touchdown. Those five punts averaged 51.8 yards, and he dropped two of them in the opposing 20. The Bengals selected him in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft because of his long hang time. That was on display Sunday. Ja’Marr Chase Hurt back? No problem. Chase finished the game with five receptions, 124 yards, and a touchdown. Not much worked for the Bengals offense throughout much of the game, but when nothing else worked, Burrow to Chase still did. The Texans haven’t given up 100 yards to a receiver in 12 consecutive games coming into Week 10, but Chase ended their streak. Losers Pass Rush No Sam Hubbard, no problem, right? Right? I mean, they have Joseph Ossai and rookie first-round pick Myles Murphy, so it’s okay, right? No? Okay... no. There was no pass rush. Outside of a handful of plays where CJ Stroud was actually pressured enough to make him drop his eyes, he sat comfortably until he found a receiver, sometimes on his third or fourth read. Stroud absolutely shredded the secondary. The whole offense until late in the third quarter The Bengals' offense has this habit of coming out of the game on fire, scoring a touchdown, which they did again today. And then, after that, the offense falls asleep. Now, in the last two weeks, the offense picked it back up, but not against the Texans. They punted five consecutive times after that first drive and wouldn’t score again until late in the third quarter, at that point, it proved to be too little, too late. Defense The Bengals defense had some big plays, like CTB’s almost pick-six, but in general, they struggled against the pass and the run, which is another way of saying the defense was just bad on Sunday. The Texans offense ran the ball down the Bengals throats. Devin Singletary had 150 rushing yards and a touchdown all by himself, breaking several bad tackles on the way. Stroud only had one touchdown pass and threw a bad interception, but he also had 356 yards in the air. Tyler Boyd He finished with eight receptions for 117 yards, but this dropped touchdown killed the Bengals in the end. Offensive line Not only was Burrow without Higgins and Chase wasn’t 100%, but the offensive line often didn’t give Burrow the time he needed to find a receiver down the field. To be fair, the Texans secondary did a very good job keeping everything in front of them, but there were times Burrow never had a chance. He was sacked four times. Bengals playoff chances There’s still plenty of time left before the season ends. (?) The defensive outlook for the season if...... It’s too early to know what happened to Trey Hendrickson at the end of the game, but things didn’t look great. I hope he’s okay, and we won’t know for a day or two. But if he’s not........ Well, you saw how effective the pass rush was today without Sam Hubbard. So, what do you think it’ll look like if Hendrickson misses significant time?
  11. Game Day Getting ready to gear up and head down to the stadium. Strange week. Not a lot poppin' on the board and some major unexpected injuries, Ja'Marr's amount of participation questionable. I simply hope Joe Burrow doesn't want to play toss-and-catch all day with Ja'Marr but he has been great about spreading the ball around. Going to be a whole new and different kind of ball game and the Texans are pretty much an unknown quantity with the new qb. See you later.
  12. This has to be a particularly frustrating call for Volson. The play wasn’t flagged. The play was chippy all the way around as Hyde joined the pile, tackling Joe Mixon after the whistle himself. The Bills did have a number of players do the same thing or slam players to the ground out of bounds. (***thought I saw some of this at the game... Bills piling on..hsh) Sometimes, as a team dealing with that, you have to sort of answer the call without going over the edge. Volson did so by trying to insinuate to Hyde he should stay off finished piles. *** At least he got his money's worth.
  13. I'm looking forward. to seeing if Drew Sample gets more targets. If they introduce the offense again as they run out of the tunnel tomorrow, I would really like to see Drew run out there rather than Irv Smith. Drew has been here a lot longer and deserves it.
  14. Absolutely. I'm now viewing this as not simply one game Sunday but two this week. Yeah, one game at a time... don't look ahead... yada But this is going to be one hella week. However, after the Thursday Rats game we get a mini bye before the Squeels come to town.
  15. Why in Heaven's name would anyone give a rat's ass what Patrick Mahomes personal trainer cares about anything? Child please... Clarification... not a negative comment aimed at you but the ridiculousness of the whole thing.
  16. My confidence level just dropped. However, on the positive side, they should be in good shape Thursday (I hope) vs the Rats who may get beaten up in Clowntown.
  17. If he does not win (hope he does), will that be Portnoy's Complaint? Go Cincinatti!
  18. Shoot me but could have lived without the f-bombs. Lots of younger fans and tarnishes both his and the team's image. OK, I guess, just not mic'd up. Ja'Marr slipped once and apologized, thought Zac was going to reprimand him that ended with an amusing story. Paul Brown would have NO part of it.
  19. *** Meh and FWIW... The Cleveland Browns made a flurry of roster moves this week. Offensive tackle Geron Christian and wideout James Proche were promoted to the active roster, while receiver Trinity Benson, safety Vincent Gray and offensive lineman Justin Murray were all signed to the practice squad, the team announced Tuesday. Cleveland also released tight end Devin Asiasi from the practice squad in a corresponding transaction. The Browns also officially placed offensive tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. (knee) and cornerback Cameron Mitchell (hamstring) on injured reserve. They’ll both be out for at least four weeks.
