You’re not getting it…he can play anywhere along the line. He can used as a moving piece and provide quality reps at every spot. Guys like that are invaluable. It’s why he’s a top 10 lock.

Give me Jer'Zhan Newton all day every day in this draft. Dude is going to be a game-wrecker. I’m hoping his lack of “ideal” measurables will knock him down a few spots right into our laps. Probably wishful thinking though.

Im not saying not to draft OL, I just don’t really think it has to be done in R1 is all. Now obviously that changes if we end up picking high enough to get one of the very top guys available.

Nowhere near as good as his stats painted him to be either though…unfortunately. Long way to go, but I see no reason at all he can’t improve as he goes along. No clue what that equates to as far as w/l’s.

Absolutely they are and they’re not prepared to handle that coming out of college. That’s why I say if you can’t beat em, join em. Take the best pass rusher available with what should be a top 12-15 pick. They won’t be picking this high often so they better take advantage.

Honestly I just don’t think you watch enough other football. Almost every QB in the league is running for his life on a weekly basis. Just because it doesn’t always end up in a sack, that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. The NFL product is absolutely shit right now and the biggest reason for that is a lack of quality on the OL, league wide….well, that and the refs.

Our LBs have never been an issue until they decided to start from scratch in the secondary. I refuse to believe that the two aren’t related. They’re trying to do too much, IMO.

Well somebody has to fill out his top50. He can’t not have any OTs. That doesn’t mean any of them are really worth it though. IMO, you’ll be able to get the same guy in R3.

I really don’t think they’ll take a first round WR. I’d be ok with a LB, but corner seems more likely.

What they’ll do is simply take the best player available….which will almost assuredly NOT be a OT. There simply aren’t enough OT’s in this draft that will grade out as first rounders. I see 2 OT’s as first round locks right now and both will most likely be gone before we ever get on the clock.

You are 100% correct. Everyone seems to think this is a Bengals issue but the reality is, it’s a league wide problem.

Both of those guys will likely go in the top 8 of the draft though. After that, it’s a black hole.

OT’s coming out of college nowadays are trash unless you’re getting a guy at the very top of the draft. Pass rushers, touchdown-makers and cover corners are the way to go.

I mean that’s the curse/blessing of a true franchise QB, is it not?
